After deciding to write an opinion on Johnson & Johnson’s baby Lotion, I typed baby lotion into the ciao search engine and was surprised to find that it came up with two completely different sections full of opinions about the very same product, how bazaar.
Well no not really, I mean it is a baby lotion but I will be posting this opinion under health and beauty. It amazes me that with all of today’s advertising I still feel safest with Johnson & Johnson’s baby lotion (J.J.B.L) for my moisturising needs. I didn’t discover its real uses until my teens but it’s been my firm favourite since then.
J.J.B.L’s
number one use.
As with any teen I was very aware of my complexion and the main concern for me was that I had combination skin and what bothered me the most was the dry flaky patches. Along comes new step mum who swears by the lotion and suggests that I use a cotton pad with the lotion every morning after cleansing.
Well I didn’t tell step mum that I’d have a go, being an awful teenager but I did and by jolly it worked. Ok if you see me in the morning just after I’ve come out of the bathroom my face glows with moisture but give it half an hour and my smooth as a babies bottom cheeks feel just lovely.
J.J.B.L’s number two use.
I have to confess that I don’t usually wear makeup. Although If I was to watch the TV or read a magazine I would realise that I simply must look disgusting and I am a terrible person for leaving the house without it.
Yet, through the years my friends and work colleagues (who like more than a little make up) always comment on how nice my complexion is. Well all I can ever reply is Johnson & Johnson’s baby lotion.
Not just because I use it in the mornings but I’ve found that when I do dabble in the odd evening of makeup wearing, at the end of the evening I can’t wait to get it off. All of it, in a hurry and the only answer for this is (yes, you’ve guessed it) Johnson & Johnson’s baby lotion. Plop a load on cotton pad and it all comes off and your skin is left feeling alive and your own again.
J.J.B.L’s number three use.
I have a deep love for knee length boots, I often wear them under trousers but just having then there is what counts. However, there is a dark side to my love and that is that my lower legs often dry up to the point where they hurt.
I only usually notice this when I have taken the boots off so instead of scratching myself to death I flip open the top of Johnson and Johnson’s baby lotion and sooth the pain away.
Recently I was at a friends while she was trying to get ready to go out. She complained that she had the same problem with her boots, to which I made my usual lotion recommendation. Another friend was horrified that I would even make the suggestion, did I not know I would stink like a baby, to which I pointed out I was covered in it and she had not yet complained of the stink.
J.J.B.L’s number four use.
I am your typical Brit. Oh, yes in the summer I only have to look at the sun in the wrong way and I turn a very red color of beetroot and with this comes pain. When this happens I usually lay on a bed naked trying not to move in the hope that the pain will stop.
After a while this becomes boring so I flip open the baby lotion and slowly and gently rub it in. When I’m finished I do it again and again in the hope that it will stop me peeling and because of the comfort the cool lotion provides under such circumstances.
J.J.B.L’s number five use.
I shower every morning and don’t want my skin to dry out, so after my shower I cover my body in the holy lotion and I’m pretty happy with the results. You can keep your fancy, expensive brands I like the lotion and it works.
More reasons to use J.J.B.L.
Always being able to buy the lotion is also another reason why I have always used it. Germany, Dubai, Switzerland, Cyprus and most recently Canada I have never have any problems picking up a pink bottle of Johnson & Jonhson’s Baby Lotion.
In fact the only issue I ever had with a purchase was when I was in Boot one day hurrying during my lunch break and by accident I picked up the pink boots own brand. Well I soon binned that as the results were horrible; it even brought me out in a rash.
It’s a brand I love, trust and will always use but I am surprised we haven’t been offered different packaging for it. A more grown up product if you like, yes the adverts have started to point out that it is for baby and for you but I wouldn’t mind a grown up bottle that says so. Let’s not get rid of the old one, that can stay in the baby section but I’d like a nice snazzy pump action bottle with the adult moisturises.
If you haven’t tried it yet, you really should!
