Are you after softer, smoother skin? I know I am! I've never really been one for moisurising daily and taking care of my skin, but have decided it's about time I do. I'm not getting any younger, am I?
I had a couple of quid to spare, so I went on a little bargain hunt, to see what I could find. What did I get? Johnsons Baby Oil. If it's good enough for a baby, then it's good enough for me!
The bottle is clear plastic, and comes in two sizes. 200ml and 500ml. It has a "baby pink" flip top lid. The bottle is
curved slightly, under the lid, to help you hold the bottle. It is kind of like an hour glass shape.
On the front of the bottle, there is a clear, pink tinted sticker. On this it tells you the name of the product, the name of the manufacturers, how much oil is inside and that it is clincally proven.
On the back of the bottle, there is a white sticker, with blue writing. This one tells you the directions of use, the ingredients and some general information.
The oil inside, is clear in colour and appears to be odourless. It is oily to the touch, not sticky. A little goes a long way, is something you need to remember, when using this product!
The purpose of this product, is to lock in moisture. Johnsons baby oil is proven to lock in ten times more moisture, than most creams and lotions. It is suitable for all skin types, all ages. It can also be rubbed onto cradle cap!
The best time to use this product, is when you have had a bath or shower, and your skin is still wet. Pour some of the oil into your hand, and rub it over your wet skin. Let it soak in and dry. You can use this oil anywhere on the body.
I have been using this oil, for about a week now. I make it part of my showering process. Everytime I have a shower, I dry my hair, then rub some of this onto my wet skin. I allow myself to dry and then get dressed.
I would like to remind you that you only need a little bit. The first time I used it, I used to much and it took a while to absorb. I had to actually remove some of the excess, with a towel. It also makes your hands very slippery! I dropped the bottle a couple of times, spilling some on the carpet!
When you have rubbed some on to your skin, you will notice when you are dry, that you have a little glisten to the areas where you applied it. I think this makes my skin look healthier. You will also notice that your skin is softer to the touch, almost instantly.
For about an hour after applying it, you may feel a little oily. I haven't found this to be too much. If you run your hands over the areas that you applied it, there seems to be a thin layer of oil, resting on your skin. This is keeping the moisture in and is what makes your skin look and feel healthier.
You will need to wash your hands afterwards, as the oil doesn't seem to absorb very well here. If you do not wash your hands, you will get oil on eveything you touch.
I have used this product, everywhere. It works well all over, not just in certain areas.
In all, I am very happy with my £2 spending spree! I have noticed that my skin feels softer, and so has my boyfriend. I also think it looks healthier too. Which can only be a good thing.
I highly recommend this product to you, if you are on a mission for smoother, softer, healthier looking skin. It is cheaper than most creams and works well. Being designed for children and babies, you know that it is going to be gentle on skin. Even for the people who are sensitive to some products.
Oh and for massages, this product is great. It feels ace, when someone else is rubbing it in for you!
Advantages: gets rid of dry skin, good for removing eye make -up, great for enhancing a tan, cheap. Disadvantages: can be a little tricky to get the oil out of the bottle without spilling at first.
