Johnson & Johnson is a global American pharmaceutical, medical devices and consumer packaged goods manufacturer founded in 1886.According to their website, Johnson and Johnson is the world’s largest, most comprehensive manufacturer of healthcare products and related services. For over 100 years, their products have been trusted by doctors, nurses and parents around the world. Their Johnson’s Baby Powder was introduced in 1890 and they now have such a wide range of baby products to choose from as well as all their other brand names and products.
Obviously as I am just about the have a baby these are the products that I am interested in at the moment but I have actually been using Johnson’s Baby Oil for years and will continue to do so long after baby has grown up. I think Johnson and Johnson have such a great reputation that I am always quite happy to use their products as I know they are going to be of a good quality.
Johnsons baby oil has to be one of the most inexpensive and effective beauty products out there. I would recommend anyone to keep a bottle in the house as in my opinion it’s such a simple but great product.
The Baby Oil is just what it says, an oil, ideal for moisturising and can be used in a number of ways. I use it in two different ways. When I have a bath I always add some (they recommend a few drops but I like to pour quite a bit it) to my bath water. I find it makes my bath water nice and silky and I can feel the water and oil working on the moisture in my skin whilst I am taking a bath. When I step out of the bath my skin feels really smooth and silky and that’s just from having some of the oil in my bath.
According to Jonhson’s, it locks in up to ten times more moisture on wet skin than an ordinary lotion can on dry skin. This being said, I also use it sometimes after I have had a shower instead of using body lotion when I am dry. I do take care to only use a little bit after my shower because you do not wash the oil off and I do not want to use too much. I use it just like a body lotion, smoothing it all over my skin, wait for a minute or two for it to sink in and dry and then again I have lovely soft skin.
What’s great about this product is that is does not leave your skin greasy or oily in any way. It soaks into your skin so well that you are not left with a layer of moisture just a product that has worked really well. In fact, I would say this product is probably good for just about any skin type as it is really mild, doesn’t have any added smells or funny products and is clinically proven mild with a gentle formula, dermatologist and allergy-tested and colourant and preservative free.
Of course, this product is perfect and tailored for babies too and I fully intend to use it on my baby once he/she has arrived. Johnson’s say you can use this product on babies after your baby's bath, for a gentle massage, or anytime your baby has dry skin. It moisturizes baby's delicate skin and helps protect from dryness and the pure mineral oil forms a silky barrier to help prevent excess moisture loss.
What I like about it too is that it is perfect for baby massage. I have been reading a lot about baby massage, about how it is a great bonding experience for mother and child and very beneficial for the baby in terms of feeling nurtured and protected and I love that this product allows you to really experience that bonding session with the baby. I find this product very cheap. You buy it in bottles and it comes in a number of different sizes. In Boots a 500ml bottle costs £2.59 but you can also get smaller 300ml and 100ml bottles and travel size ones as well. As it is an oil a little bit of product goes a long way so it is very economical as well.

Advantages: gets rid of dry skin, good for removing eye make -up, great for enhancing a tan, cheap. Disadvantages: can be a little tricky to get the oil out of the bottle without spilling at first.
