I am no snob and I will try most things once. But when it comes to cleaning stuff for the kids I just personally believe you cannot beat Johnsons. I have tried all the other home made brands such as Tescos, Sainsburys, Mothercare, Avent, Superdrug and my motto is “I’ve tried the rest and I am sticking with the best”. I just have never been able to be Johnsons on their quality but I think there is something just unique about their smell that does it for me. I was thinking the best way to write this op that would be easy on your eye and to the point because they do have such a vast range need to keep it simple. So I am going to list all their baby care products and the ones that I personally use I will put a note next to the product and explain why.
What is Johnsons? ************** Well Johnson and Johnson are the most broadly based manufacturer of health and beauty products ranging from baby bath through to contact lenses. The company was established in 1943 by Robert Wood Johnson and has been going strong ever since and is now one of the worlds biggest companies. This huge company was originally founded by making surgical dressings. There surgical dressings drastically reduced the amount of
infection and disease that was around at the time as so the company went from strength to strength and grew into what it has now become today.
Johnsons Softwash ************** We all use this one in my household. It is what we all use as our shower gel substitute. It has a delicate soft smell and a very thick creamy lather. Watch out as this is quite often on the buy one get one free offers especially in Tescos. And it is great value as you don’t need much on your sponge. This one does not have that unique Johnsons smell though. But is extremely mild as I use it to wash my face. It comes in 2 different smell much the same really.
Johnsons Soft Wash Cleansing Cloths ****************************** These are relatively new on the market. I buy these also and I give the baby one to play with in the bath. He trys to wash himself with it so a pack does last me quite a while.
Johnsons Moisturising Baby Bath **************************** My favourite I use this every time I have a bath myself. You don’t need to put much in and the smell is that unique Johnsons Smell that leaves you clean and smelling great. You can normally find this on offer to.
Johnsons head to toe wash ********************** I have tried this one but was not overall keen on the smell.
Johnsons Bedtime Bath ****************** I have tried this one when my son was being a pain at going to sleep. Did it help him sleep………No but it smelt nice none-the-less.
Johnsons Baby Bar *************** This is Johnsons bar of soap not keen on this one as I found it to be quite drying on the skin.
Johnsons Vapour Bath ****************** This is for if your baby is bunged up. I used this last year and found it to be very good. Yet when he was bunged up this winter and I visited my Boots superstore could not find it anywhere. So I dropped some Carvol into the running water and to be honest worked just the same.
Johnsons Diaper rash cream *********************** I found this not to be very effective stick to Metanium or Sudocrem for nappy rash.
Johnsons Baby Lotion ****************** I would say this is their landmark product. This is where the original Johnsons smell comes from. A creamy pink lotion which moisturises well although there is better moisturises around they don’t smell as great as this one. There is nothing better than picking up a newborn baby and it smelling of Johnsons it makes most of us start to cluck with broodiness. Although my eldest son was late and had very dry and sensitive skin when born and Johnsons did seem to irritate it so I could not use Johnsons until he was about 2 months so keep that in mind. I still to this day apply Johnsons Baby Lotion to my legs after shaving I think it is fantastic stuff.
Johnsons Baby Oil Well I have tried this and it now also comes in an aloe vera , chamomile, and vitamin E. I find it fantastic as a massage oil as it is cheap and cheerful yet for baby I found it a bit to greasy.
Johnsons Breast Pads ****************** Was to selfish to use this went straight to bottle.
Johnsons Baby Powder ******************* Again I would say another one of their flagship products. When I had my eldest 9 yrs ago we were warned of using talc not quite sure what the reason was. But when I had my second son 18 months ago I used to always cover him in this talc once he was dried after his bath. He smelt gorgeous and it soaks up excess moisture. My eldest son still uses it but must admit he progressing to Lynx. \I always bought the original one but it bow comes in varieties such as Pure Cornstarch with aloe vera and vitamin E, Vanilla and Jasmine, Medicated and Lavender and chamomile.
Johnsons Baby Shampoo ******************** I think most of us have probably tried this one. My second son was born with quite a lot of hair so I had to use this. Again I used the original one yet it also comes in Lavender, Detangling formula and Honey and Vitamin E. It is great stuff though as it really does not sting their eyes.
Johnsons Baby skincare wipes ************************* These are my NO 1 must have if I did not have these I would feel like I was missing a limb. These wipes are literally made to feel like a very thin flannel and have the unique Johnsons smell. They really do leave your babies bottom smelling great and leaving it fresh (I really should be in sales!!!!!). But seriously they are great and they are always normally on Buy 1 get 1 free. They are very cheap in Tescos at £2.19 per pack. These also come in a few different varieties now aloe vera and their Top to Toe (these smell like the bath products and are not as soft as the skincare wipes) but yet still great. I would recommend these to every mum as a must.

Overall ****** Well as always you must keep in mind that this only a personal opinion and obviously it may vary to other peoples. Although if I do say so myself I am quite good at knowing my baby stuff (sorry my head just swelled then). But as Johnsons say 8 out of 10 midwives use their products so it is obviously well recommended even by the professionals. And if you notice when you are in hospital after having your baby in the maternity nursery it is all johnsons products they stock which is a great advertisement in itself. Anyway will leave you chaps to your shopping. P.S They also make KY Jelly but I think we will leave that for an entirely different op LOL Happy Shopping Julia

Would never use Johnson and Johnsons products after reading about what they contain (ie; Sodium laureth sulphate , a foaming agent thought to be carcinogenic) Also many of the baby wipes etc contain alcohol and other nasties- yuk! I find the fragrances quite chemical and artificial too. I prefer brands like Tushies (environmentally friendly and natural formulations) Green Baby , Mother Nature and Little Me Baby organics. Neals Yard are amazing too. Try these and tI'll bet you'll never use Johnsons (or most of the mainstream brands) again!!
