I have now come to the conclusion that there is no easy solution, but wait, if there is something that actually minimises the stuff that you need to get rid of, then surely it must be worth a try.

I was doing my usual grocery shopping on-line, when I noticed Johnson's hair minimising Lotion. Now being a typical female, I have tried all number of different ways to remove hair from my body. Why did God make us with hairy legs? I have now come to the conclusion that there is no easy solution, but wait, if there is something that actually minimises the stuff that you need to get rid of, then surely it must be worth a try.
I am not sure why, but the Johnson & Johnson brand name already makes me believe that this product will indeed work. It is a company I believe and trust in. Is that just because the Johnson brand is well known? Who knows.
This generously sized 250ml plastic bottle, is shaped in the same way as so many of the Johnson products. This attractive but simple container is white with a pink lid, there is a picture of some legs on the front with some navy blue writing. The look of this product would give you the impression that it is for your legs. On the reverse is a label showing the ingredients . Statements made by Johnson's include, 'Helps you shave less often' and 'Soft smooth skin'.

When I first tried this lotion, I noticed that the consistency was fairly thick but that the cream had a shimmery look, almost like white Vaseline. It certainly didn't feel as greasy as Vaseline though. The lotion does absorb into the skin easily unless too much is applied, and then it can take ages to 'sink' in. I first used this when I had just shaved my legs and felt a very very slight itching afterwards. A little bit like when I have used that 'Veet' hair removal gel… but no where near as much. I like the fact that this lotion is not scented at all, as I am not a fan of their usual baby smell moisturiser at all.
I purchased my Johnson's Hair Minimising Lotion from Tesco for £3.99. I believe that it is widely available from most skin care stockists.
Having now used this lotion several times, although not remembering everyday, I must admit, I would say that yes it does work. However don't expect major differences. I normally shave my legs everyday in the shower and by the evening they already don't feel perfectly smooth. This Hair Minimising Lotion helps them to stay smoother for that day, but I would still shave the next morning as usual. My legs would probably look fine, but they wouldn't be completely smooth to touch.
I think that this lotion is good value even if there are no major results in the Hair department. It moisturises anyway, so at £3.99 it hasn't been a waste of my money especially as I have found that this 250ml container lasts and lasts. Let's hope that in the near future an efficient, cheap and painless, permanent form of Hair removal can be found. Or is that just wishful thinking!

The bottle describes it as "an exclusive combination of natural soy and other skin conditioners which works to soften hair and make it less noticable. applying it daily makes you shave less often. the rich, fast - absorbing lotion spreads easily and immediately softens and ... ...PACKAGING
It comes in a white bottle with a baby pink lid, I bought the 250ml one, but I think it comes in 500ml as well (but don't quote me on that.) The instructions on the back are a little vague, but I suppose it isn't that hard to apply lotion onto your legs.
WHAT DOES IT LOOK AND FEEL AND SMELL LIKE?

Packaging: A Medium sized upright, durable container. Simple in design, but straight to the point, light and pastel in colour yet informative on the back.

Available from Boots the Chemist and most high street health and beauty retailers.
Cost: Ranging in the region of £2.49, dependant where purchased.
Texture: Medium and adequate in texture, without it being to runny. Easily dispensed and adequately applied.

I'd saw this on the TV but only decided to try it when I got it on offer. Heres what I think of it:
PACKAGING – The lotion comes in a white plastic bottle with a pink flip-top lid.
The lotion is white and of a cream-like consistency. When you rub it into your legs it feel quit greasy for a bit then it will be absorbed by the skin and it should be alright to put your trousers on. I normally put too much on so it takes quite a while to dry. When ... ...perfumed but it is a kind of neutral smell which is quite nice. If I put it on before bed when I’m in bed and when I see how soft my legs are cream rubs off it little bits. I think this may be because it is not all absorbed properly and/or I’ve put too much on.
It claims to ‘help you shave less often’ – I don’t use it as often as I should but I think it does help. I shaved of Saturday for a party that evening and put on the cream in the morning. ...

Advantages: Reasonably cheap and easy to find, did moisturise. Disadvantages: Yucky consistency, didn't work.
I bought this in desperation because my regular King of Shaves product (Woman Vanishhair) had done a temporary disappearing act. That works (see review) this doesn't.
It claims to reduce the need to shave your legs, to soften the hair and make it less noticeable, and to soften and smooth the skin (all from back of bottle). Well.. it did moisturise my legs but did very little else. I didn't notice that I had to shave less often at all and my thick ... ...required).
And if moisturising is all it's good for, I have plenty other much nicer creams in my overstocked cupboard, and this is a chore to use in comparison with any of those. It has a yucky, greasy consistency much like cold custard and smells like a cross between soap and bakewell tart. It comes in a simple squeezy bottle, but it always makes you squeeze out far to much of the damn stuff so you end up desperately spreading it all over you, ...

Advantages: Easy to get hold of, cheap Disadvantages: Too greasy for me
As someone who is blessed with both copious amount of dark hair and extremely pale skin (a combination I curse my father with on a regular basis) I was naturally very interested in any product that would cut down on the need for constant shaving. I looked around and on the recommendation of a friend found one that I liked - the scent was nice, it sank in quickly and it even seemed to work.
However as is the way of things I was in the supermarket ... ...- arg - summer is approaching I have moved back to the sea after three years away and I need my lotion. I was considering throwing a tantrum of two year old proportions when this caught my eye. Like everyone else I had seen the adverts for this and figured in the circumstances I would give it a whirl - it couldn't possibly make me have to shave any more often.
Anyway I got it home and it sat on the side for a bit whilst I eked out the last drop ...
