From time to time we all have hang ups about certain parts of our anatomy, some of these stem from name calling as kids, or mine certainly do.

I have dark skin, eyes and hair because of this the hair on my body is also dark so more obvious than it would be on a blonde. As a teenager I took a lot of stick about this and it has made me very paranoid about it, especially my top lip.

I first had my top lip bleached by my cousin who at the time was doing a beauty therapy course and when she did my lip she said she didn't know what I was worrying about because it was nothing compared to others she has seen. Her comment although nice did nothing to stop my paranoia over it. After she had bleached the offending hairs I felt a million times better and was really pleased with the result so I invested in some Jolen Bleach myself so that I could carry on bleaching it and not having to worry about it in future.

I always buy mine in Superdrug or Boots, to be honest O have never seen it anywhere else. They do a 'normal' and a mild version. I find I don't need the mild one, the 'normal' one isn't too bad, it doesn't sting so I cope ok with that.

This comes in an old fashioned looking box, rather boring packaging but it isn't the packaging that causes me to buy this! In the box there is a little tub of crème and a smaller tub of accelerator, as well as a spatula, piece of flat plastic and the instructions.

To mix this up is quite easy basically it is one part accelerator and two parts crème. You use the spatula to spoon the accelerator powder onto the flat piece of plastic, wipe the spatula and then spoon out some of the crème and mix it well.

You just apply this mixture over the area with the hairs you wish to lighten, in my case my top lip and leave it for ten minutes, check it is light enough, if not leave it another five minutes. Scrape off the mixture with the spatula and then rinse the area well and cleanse it.

This process really is simple and pain free.

You can use this for larger areas, I have in the past used this on my arms as well and found that it worked really well but to use less you can mix up half the amount you will need, do one arm then use that mixture to do the other arm. Although this means it takes twice as long it does save product so also money too.

This does smell quite strong but I would notice that considering it is right under my nose when I use it! I have used hair dyes that smell stronger! If it isn't right near my face I don't tend to notice the smell at all.

For the price I cannot fault this as a large box lasts me months! I usually do this once every three to four weeks unless I am going somewhere special, then I always do it on the day.

Re-growth isn't noticeable, luckily. I do after a couple of weeks notice that the hairs are starting to show again though.

I could not live without this now, I love the fact it removes my worries, it makes me feel more confident!

I buy the large pack which contains 125ml crème and 30g accelerator this costs £9.35 in Superdrug and is the cheapest way to buy it, the smaller box works out an awful lot dearer in the long run.
