...book as a present for my birthday. As being an England rugby fanatic and playing the game myself I was very keen to see if I could pick something up off him. I was also very keen to see how he had viewed the world cup from his position in the side. I was able to learn lots more of Wilkinson as a character than of his outstanding rugby career.
As I was reading the book I felt that I could really connect with Wilkinson as a person and ... ...rugby and if anything he had inspired me even further to play rugby. Like him I don't want to be out in the spotlight of all the attention, if I get any attention then I want to get that on the rugby field.
Wilkinson has opened up his life to the public, which as a nation very few knew much about. This book opens up his positives as well as negatives, his hopes and fears in his career.

As I was reading the book I felt that I could really connect with Wilkinson as a person and a rugby player. I have always been inspired to play rugby and if anything he had inspired me even further to play rugby. Like him I don't want to be out in the spotlight of all the attention, if I get any attention then I want to get that on the rugby field.

Like me Wilkinson started rugby at a young age and was in the shadow of his older brother who had started rugby a few years before. But from watching his sibling he was able to pick up the key points in the game which I guess had helped him to become an even greater player.
He opens up his experience as an adult off the pitch and as a player on the pitch and what made him able to get that drop goal.
If you have a son or grandson or a young boy around the age of 12-15 and is inspired by rugby day and night and is a rugby fanatic then this may be the book which they are looking for to read.
This book is well worth what you have to pay for it, so I recommend it to anyone that is an England fanatic or just a rugby player.
Advantages: Very Helpful Disadvantages: Not Long enough
Since the rugby world cup final in 2003, I have had an interest in rugby. And since then I have read a number of rugby books, mainly autobiographies by the known rugby stars such as Jonah Lomo, Martin Johnson and the like.
I have also read Clive Woodwood's autobiography who is the old England rugby coach.
"My World" by Jonny Wilkinson is a very good book, and I learnt a lot about "Jonny" as a person after reading the book. The book gives an insight ... ...Sydney and what he had to do to get there. The only thing that I didn't like about this book, is that it was a bit too short, it only took me about three hours to read the whole thing.
However it was an easy book to read, and the photo's that were in the book were good and very artistic. Another thing that I enjoyed about "My World", is there was a chapter about who Jonny classes as his heros, and I was surprised to hear that they were not all rugby ...

Advantages: Easy to read, informative Disadvantages: Nothing
The book mainly focuses on the mental side of Jonny Wilkinson's career. The best part of the book for me would be all the quotes included. These were always a source of motivation. The book outlined his fears and hopes for the present and the future. The book gives a clear and somewhat detailed account of the psychological attributes needed to make the top level in the rugby union world. Anyone interested in not only Jonny Wilkinson but rugby in ...
