Review of "Judge Vista Casserole"
Mum to Alfie.....now 11 weeks old! Will be back reviewing really soon I hope!!! xxx
A couple of months ago now I was in desperate need of a new casserole dish, I say casserole dish, it was one that I could not only use as a traditional casserole dish and put in the oven, I also wanted one that I could use on the hob as well. A lot of the dishes that I cook for mine and my husband’s tea tend to be ones that I start off on the hob and then transfer to the over to carry on cooking whilst I either pop to a friends for a catch up or we go the gym, then our tea is cooked by the time we get in. The product that I am reviewing today is my Judge Vista 24cm casserole dish, the casserole dish is one that I wanted as prior to having it I had been using a saucepan and then transferring to an ovenproof dish, this let me do both in the same dish. Here are my thoughts.
The casserole dish will cost you around the £35.00 mark, I got mine in HS, that’s not a shop that I tend to go in that often, we have one at our large shopping centre, but that is 20 minutes away so I like to have a mooch in their homeware and found this, the dish can also be found in brands of Curry’s or online from Amazon for around the same price. There is also a 25 year guarantee that comes with the dish.
The casserole dish is made from stainless steel and has an aluminium base. There are 2 handles either side of the dish, these stay cool when you are cooking on the hob so allow you to move the dish around with ease and without having the worry of burning your hands, there is also a knob on the lid of the dish so this also can be removed safely. The dish is safe in temperature up to 180 degrees which I think is around the gas mark 4, as this is a casserole dish, I tend to like food slow cooked anyway so the temperature settings work find for me.
The lid on the casserole dish is a glass one so I find it is ideal when cooking as you can see if a liquid is simmering down well or how well your food is cooking, it’s not so good when in the oven as obviously the base is an aluminium one but I am not so bothered about that. I have cooked a number of dishes in this casserole dish now and been really pleased; a slight concern is that the base of the dish would get scratched really easily but having used it for a good couple of months now it is still looking great.
Dishes from chicken curry to a chilli as well as a bulky family stew have all been cooked in the casserole dish and I have been really impressed with the results. It feels very comfy and safe to work with and once all the cooking done it can be put into the dishwasher!
I would be more than happy to recommend this.
5 out of 5 from meThank you for reading
