Philips v La Lanne
Advantages: Very fast efficient way of making healthy tasty drinks Disadvantages: None
...expensive and I saw the Philips in a London store for just under £100 and bought it. It is easy to use, very easy to take apart for cleaning and re-assemble. It is a very effcient juicer and the pulp which comes out is nearly dry which is a sign of a good juicer. A couple of years later I saw one of the La Lanne models on special offer and decided there would be no harm in owning a "spare". I was very disappointed. The juicer has more parts that ... ...ads for the La Lanne Juicer, and is torn between the two, the Philips is definitely the better option. If you have a child who is not keen on their fruit and veg, this is an excellent way of getting them to have their 5 a day. ...

The Juice Master
Advantages: Juices most things whole Disadvantages: Having to peel Oranges
I like gadgets, some things I buy (the ice cream maker, candy flosss maker, milk shake maker etc)get used once and put into the cupboard and forgotten. I'd fancied having a juicer for a while, new gadget and I like fresh juices. I was in Makro and saw the Phillips HR1858 on Special ,it was about £50 (incl VAT), the list price is £99.99 although you can get for around £65. It was a pure impulse buy.
So my new toy and I arrived home together, only ... ...get some fruit to juice. Like al ittle kid I ripped open the box to get at the contents.
It came with what looked like a really useful instruction book, fairly well written, although there were acouple of extra bits of paper with two lines of information on each. It ws if they'd written the instruction book, had it printed and suddenly realise that they'd forgotten something. It was all printed on recycled friendly (so very eco friendly). There ...

What a disappointment!
Advantages: can extract juice from most types of fruit Disadvantages: huge, bulky, must peel the oranges, lots of froth, v. time consuming
...This is not what the Breville Anthony Worrall Thompson Juice Extractor JE15 does !
It seems that the fruits are grated and spun to maximise the juice extractions (I thought the extraction was via a press): this means that the oranges (and other citrus fruits) have to be peeled first.
Having discovered that I could not insert whole unpeeled oranges, I also then realised that:
a) it is really huge & bulky (many times the currently used Philips comfort ... ...into a glass: you must use the large & bulky jug which is provided or else the juice will splutter all over your worktop as it comes out at high speed from the spout;
c) it seems to extract more juice than the Philips press but a good proportion is "froth", which does not taste nice, and this is why the provided jug has a froth separator;
d) cleaning theJE15 is a much bigger task than t cleaning the Philips citrus press: there are 8 separate pieces ...

Magical Magimix!
Advantages: very sturdy - will juice most fruits and vegetables well Disadvantages: the cleaning is a pain but you get that with all juicers
I Love this juicer!
It was bought as a wedding gift and I have been using it ever since. The juicer comes in a variety of colours including hot pink! I went for the conservative white.
The only downsides are the cleaning (which I have now perfected) and it doesnt juice mangoes very well - but all other fruits it is very good for and makes great carrot juice. The motor is very powerful and ideal for any fruits.
If you need an industrial juicer ...

Wow What a Juicer!
Advantages: easy to use Disadvantages: none
Wow what a juicer. I got this for Christmas and I have been making all different types of juice since. Very easy to use and when you need to clean it very easy to take apart a bit like lego and the other good thing is very easy to put back together again.There are two speed settings and in some ways rather basic and functional but it does not job. A pulp container to one said and a measuring jug to place on the other side of juicer to collect the ... ...the juicer is housed in white plastic so it is very easy to clean.The other advantage is that you can put whole fruit into the dispenser particularly fruit that does not need peeling.Also in with the juicer I had Jason Vale who is the juice master book with info on juice making and that he claims that if you only had fruit juice for seven days you could lose seven pounds in weight. Have not tried that yet still trying to sample various types of fruit ...
