The Easy Way to Five a Day.
Advantages: Fresh juice whenever you want. Affordable. Disadvantages: Quite large. Not very easy to clean.
...the TV ad for the JML Juice Booster for £49.99. So off I went to Woolies to purchase one. It is also available from other stores and the JML website.
It came with a very colourful recipe book, with a few basic recipes and some information about the health benefits of different juices. The instruction leaflet is just one sheet with a diagram of the parts, basic instructions and safety warnings.
First of all I had to take it apart to remove some ... ...pieces apart just to make sure that there was no more packing (it does not mention that there is cardboard over the blade in the instructions). It was very easy to take apart and then reassemble. I started off by juicing some carrots, it is surprising how much juice you can get out of a carrot. Then I added an apple or two. The juice is collected in container, which is provided. The pulp (or most of it) goes into a residue collecter (also provided). ...

For the money - amazing!
Advantages: Value for money, looks lovely, produces lovely juice, easy to use Disadvantages: Quite noisy
I'm so happy with this juicer. It was easy to assemble, it's easy to clean and produces fresh juice that isn't 'bitty'. My Kenwood blender claimed to juice but it was awful so I bought this. It looks wonderful, it doesn't take up much room and as far as juicers go, it's pretty easy to clean. It is rather loud, but as you would expect from any juicer or blender. The health benefits of making your own juice are vast and homemade juice contains a whole ... ...pasteurisation process and added preservatives. It's true that you will need quite a lot of fruit and vegetables to produce sufficient juice (this is the case with all juicers) but that's the joy of juicing - you get a load of nutrients you wouldn't usually consume. This juicer has two speed setting, one for soft fruit and veg such as apples, peaches etc and another for hard fruit and veg such as carrots and cabbage. The best thing is, you don't ...

Philips v La Lanne
Advantages: Very fast efficient way of making healthy tasty drinks Disadvantages: None
...expensive and I saw the Philips in a London store for just under £100 and bought it. It is easy to use, very easy to take apart for cleaning and re-assemble. It is a very effcient juicer and the pulp which comes out is nearly dry which is a sign of a good juicer. A couple of years later I saw one of the La Lanne models on special offer and decided there would be no harm in owning a "spare". I was very disappointed. The juicer has more parts that ... ...ads for the La Lanne Juicer, and is torn between the two, the Philips is definitely the better option. If you have a child who is not keen on their fruit and veg, this is an excellent way of getting them to have their 5 a day. ...

The Matstone 6 in 1 juice extractor single auger juicer
Advantages: quiet, easy to strip and clean Disadvantages: quite pricey
The matstone is a great alternative to the centrifugal style juicer that we've used previously, it uses a slow turning crushing style auger to press the fruits and vegetables against a perforated juicing screen.
The juicer doubles up as a grinder/homogeniser so we've used it to make sauces and ice cream and even to grind roasted coffee beans. The build quality is GREAT and real sense of a solid and well made machine.
All the parts are well made ... ...While the juice is rich and still, and suitable for 1 days storage, not frothy like our old centrifugal. I think the real boon here is the Matstone will just keep going and going, there isn't anything to go blunt or block or wear out, this is its best feature. ...
