You Are What You Eat Juice Centre
Review of Russell Hobbs 12713 by
Themermaid
Advantages: Cheap. Reduced to £14.99 in some places
Disadvantages: Difficulty of cleaning, 2 minute max usage
Bought on impulse because reduced to £14.99 and thought I ought to try juicing.
Used once and regretted purchase, it'll end up at the back of the cupboard with other such electrical kitchen gadgets.
Cleaning is a pain because there are quite a few parts and many have inaccesable nooks and crannies, most of the pulp ended up in the lid rather than the pulp container, the mesh seive needs very careful cleaning to ensure all food matter is removed. ...

Did Steve Austin juice?
Review of Russell Hobbs 10227 by
gobbledygook
Advantages: Powerful motor, easy to use,
Disadvantages: Latches and switch feel a bit flimsy
...of three, which included the Russell Hobbs 10227-10 Juicelady Junior, the Kenwood JE550 Electronic Juicer and another Kenwood whose name must have been so uninteresting I've forgotten it. We looked up reviews of all three but they didn't help us make a final choice as they all had pros and cons. In the end we went with the Juice Lady 10227 as it had by far the most powerful motor of the three so should make easy going of whatever we threw at it. ... ...and vegetables, concocting all sorts of weird and wonderful recipes such as apple and orange..
The package arrived a short time later and we pushed through the piles of fruit and vegetables (difficult as I wasn't bionic yet) to get to the box. It was hurriedly opened and the Juice Lady set up. This was a simple process involving removing some plastic bags and cardboard packaging from in and around the machine. I didn't read the manual because a: ...

JUICELADY PRO WHOLE FRUIT JUICER
Review of Russell Hobbs 10007 by
sniff4177
Advantages: large infeed chute, 750 watt motor
Disadvantages: no built in juice collector, can be quite noisy
With its stainless steel body, this juicer should look great on display in any kitchen . It has a powerful 750w motor and boasts high and low speed settings. The high speed setting is recommended for hard fruit and vegetables whereas the slower speed is designed for juicing softer fruits. The generously proportioned pulp collector ensures that you do not have to empty it until you have finished the job. With no hard to reach areas , this juicer is ... ...two clips open and removing three screws from the built in filter. Due to the small size of the filter mesh it is advisable to avoid juicing bananas as the filter will clog up very quickly. The instruction booklet includes a helpful guide telling you how fruit and veg should be preared before to ensure top quality juice. The juice produced is normally foamy but it should settle after about 5-10 mins . I bought this unit two weeks ago from lx direct ...

Leaky design, spend a little more
Review of Russell Hobbs 13889 by
MatB
Advantages: Small, convenient size
Disadvantages: Leaks by design, faulty power switch (may be a one-off)
I was bought this Russell Hobbs Juicer as a Christmas present by my mother. We had a few of goes with it, but were a little disappointed. The juice tended to leak all over the place, and the power switch was a tad dodgy. I returned it to Argos and replaced it with a Cookworks Signature Whole Fruit Juicer for only a fiver more (at the time). Russell Hobbs don't seem to clarify which model is which, so for the avoidance of confusion this is Argos catalogue ... ...easy to put to one side when not in use. It has a fairly small opening for placing the fruit to be juiced in. This is a virtue as there is enough room to use the unit still under a kitchen cupboard. But it does mean you have to cut the fruit up into relatively small pieces. The manual states that you should peel and de-pip all fruit before placing it in the juicer. This creates a lot of mess, is rather time-consuming and takes a lot of the fun out ...

Juicing Vs Buying juice
Review of Russell Hobbs 10227 Juicelady Junior by
yasmine201
Advantages: Very Powerfull, capeable of juicing large quantities
Disadvantages: Dificult to Clean
The JuiceLady junior is a great thing to have in your kitchen. However, this may be down to my lazyness but I dont use it enough to justify its bulky existance in my Kitchen.
With regards to using the product it is very simple. There is a on/off switch and thats it. No fast, slow controls. This is a problems however if you do not have a firm grip on the juicer...it whizzes so fast that the compartment on the left, awaiting discarded pulp can fly ... ...container to collect the much awaited juice comes with the juicer so you have to find your own. This is ok if you have the right height glasses, not too tall for the spout and not too short to leave the juice able to once again mess your kitchen.
Another thing is that the tunnel you put the fruit into is quite small so you will have to prepare all fruit and veg into smaill juiceladyable chunks, this can take time.
On the plus side, the juice tastes ...
