Utter innocence in a bottle Advantages: Really healthy; loads of flavours and varieties; great packaging Disadvantages: I feel guilty about recycling the little innocent faced bottle; tad expensive ...its purchasers shows this. Innocent smoothies are, as you may gather, complete virgins to added sugar and other gunk like additives and preservatives. They are litterally, a bottle of pure pressed fruit. I'm reviewing the strawberry and banana variety because it's my favourite, plus the fact, the little bottle is sittign beside me; watching me type. aww. Let me start with the bottle seeing as it is sooo cute. I have a 250ml transparent plastic ... ...label is great fun as innocent like to add little quirks like: - 'We promise that we'll never use concentrates, preservative, stabalisers....And we promise to eat our greens.' The bottle is (quote) - 'made from 100% recyclable plastic. Please recycle it so we can make more.' Plus, we must 'shake it up baby' before drinking. Innocent promises - 'Never ever ever from concentrate' 'over 50% of RDA of vit c' '2 portions of fruit'. The ingredients ... Contains Superfruit!!!!!` Advantages: tastes lovely Disadvantages: doesnt really contribute towards your five a day ...using it. The Tesco Super fruit Smoothie is a dark purple colour and had a fairly thick consistency. It is a lot thicker and has more texture than the other brands of Smoothies I have bought in the past. Before I poured the Smoothie into a glass to give it the taste test I shook the bottle vigorously to mix all the bits of fruit together. Once I had poured it into the glass I had a good look at it before I drank it. It's a really dark purple colour ... ...each 1 litre bottle of Tesco Super Fruit Smoothie that there are ~ 50 Acai berries, 1¼ pomegranates, 50 red grapes, 240 blueberries, 4 ⅓ bananas and 2 oranges. If I would have read the label on the bottle before I tried the Smoothie I would have known that there were actually other fruits in it not just the three fruits which are printed on the front of the label on the bottle. Banana, pineapple & coconut Advantages: great taste, healthy Disadvantages: price ...smoothie addict! I love the Innocent Smoothies and they since became a regular part of my lunch. The small ones can get quite expensive if you buy one per day so I tried the 1 liter version the other day. Pineapple, bananas & coconut is my favourite. It's not too sweet and reminds me of my trip to Thailand - ah, sun, beach and a pineapple & coconut shake... -------------------------- Packing The smoothie comes in a white cardboard drink box with ... ...more sugar as in other Innocent smoothies due to the coconut milk. Still, 73 kcal per 100ml is ok-isch, maybe don't chose the coconut variant every day if you are on a diet. What does milk thistle taste like?? Advantages: Good for you Disadvantages: Bad for Purse Whilst perusing the cold shelves of my local Tesco I came across this large 1 litre bottle of PJ’s Super Smoothie. I had previously tried a few of these with the Banana & Mango being a favourite but this was my first time with the delights of a litre bottle and of this flavour. Good for you but too good to be true innocent pure fruit squeezie Advantages: Only contain fruit. Disadvantages: Children didn't like them. As a parent to young children I am one of those people much like anyone else who likes to keep an eye on what my children are eating. I like them to have a healthy and balanced diet. I am always on the look out for new things for my children to try as a healthier option to sweets and chocolate (although they do have these aswell). Whilst in my local Morrisons store the other day I came across a new product for children which is called pure fruit ... ...thought great these will come in handy for their lunchboxes or as a healthy after school snack. I decided to buy them and as an added bonus they were on offer for £1. The Packaging These fruit squeezies come in a long plastic tube (much like the type that you buy tennis balls in). The tube is mostly clear, at the top there is a blue band with writing on.
