Friends, Romans, Countrymen....his greatest work
Review of Julius Caesar - William Shakespeare by  shister_not

Advantages: A fantastic play
Disadvantages: Diffuicult if the reader doesn't understand the jargon

...Another historically based play by William Shakespeare. The play tells the tale of one the greatest rulers and empires ever known, Julius Caesar and Rome. The play greatly shows the conversion of many against their leader and the relationships between many and him. The play is written with the greatness of any other Shakespeare play with added greatness. The writing ever at times is tragedy still expresses the Bard beautiful way with words. More than any other play, this shows the gullibility of the human race, how quickly an opinion can be changed and changed back. Whilst reading this book I came to my own conclusion about who was responsible for Caesar's death and the possible guilty parties is one of the greatest parts of this play. I greatly recommend reading this play and coming to ones own conclusion.... Read review

Stepping stone to literacy genius
Review of Mr William Shakespeare Plays - Marcia Williams by  maisiemouse123

Advantages: Short, colourful, comic stlye short stories
Disadvantages: Ideal for 8's and over

...This book was brought home by my 8 year old last week, and she didn't want to put it down. The stories include:- Romeo and Juliet A midsummer Night's Dream Hamlet Julius Caesar Macbeth The Winter's Tale The Tempest Each of the stories are written in the style of a comic strip and the borders of the page have extra characters "commenting" on the story, good idea however a little distracting at times. Each story is a great recap for those of us who Haven't read shakespear in a while, and a wonderful stepping stone for children to the world William Shakespear. Each story retains the basic concepts of the story while are short enough to keep children interested until the end, all stories are about four sides of A4 paper, very colourful and wonderfully descriptive.... 'The noblest Roman of them all'
Review of Julius Caesar - William Shakespeare by  Amadahn

Advantages: Excellent characterisations; good plot
Disadvantages: None, really.

...at the beginning of Act III and from then on only makes the odd appearance as an itinerant ghost. Neither is it about Mark Antony, although he is the one left holding power when the play ends. In fact, these two characters are portrayed in a somewhat unsympathetic way by Shakespeare when compared to the sophisticated and fascinating characters of Brutus and, to a lesser extent, Cassius. But despite this interest in Brutus, there is no real central character in ‘Julius Caesar.’ Instead, much of the play’s appeal lies in the interaction between the four powerful personalities of Brutus, Cassius, Caesar, and Mark Antony. ET TU, BRUTE? This well known phrase might suggest, to those unfamiliar with the play, that Brutus is a treacherous and malicious rogue who ‘brutally’ murdered the trusting Caesar. If this were the case... Read review
