Advantages: Wide range, able to see networks from a distance! Disadvantages: Sometimes a bit slow
...I brought this at the beginning of last year, and it cost me around £40 from currys, which at first i thought was a lot of money, which i was wrong about, it was well worth the amount.
When i took it home, i followed the instructions, it is kind of difficult to install, not as easy as it looks on the instructions. However i think the hardest part of the installation, is not actually the installation for the networkcard, but to setup the wireless connection.
The good thing about the networkcard, is that it is VERY good at detecting wireless networks. As i am at uni, i lived in a house last year, and i was on the bottom floor, and the computer with the actual connection was 3 storeys( not sure if that is spelled right lol!) above me, and we had 10 computers connected to the system, and people walking around constantly, yet my connection...

Advantages: fast, comes with utility for signal strength etc., can join computers without access point or router Disadvantages: Set up instructions not detailed enough, wouldn't ad-hoc on my PCs
...The parents recently bought a second PC to have downstairs for themselves to use and to access the internet with. As we have a cable broadband (512mbps) connection we thought we'd network them and use Windows' Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) tool to connect to the internet through my PC. This way we would save money on buying a wireless network access point or router (which, for the 802.11g models was very expensive.)
After shopping around we found the Belkin cards for £35 (or thereabouts) and were told there were good quality and we could easily connect the two PCs together with them without bothering with wires.
This is where my review proper begins as when I got home and installed them (according to the limited instructions) I tried everything I could to get the computers to "talk to each other".
I visited the Belkin...

Advantages: Easy to install, fairly priced Disadvantages: Limited range
...I personally have fond this product to be of great use, very easy to setup and run, on-screen instructions are neat and to the point.
I would reccommend this item to anyone looking to make there own wireless network with there laptop, within there house.
The range on this product is somwhat limited, it is fine if you only wish to se this product within a standard 2 story house, however it does not work very well in a 3 story house from top floor to bottom, nor does this product work very well from the garden.
I have found this product to be of reasonable price compared to some other simular products, I would recommend PCMCIA over USB, as most users dont ever use the PCMCIA socket and almost all of us need the use of USB....
