We are to have a nice family portrait taken for Christmas and as I looked in the mirror a rather grey haired old man was staring right back at me. Now don’t get me wrong I am quite proud of my portly figure and the twinkle in my eye but it was as if I had realised for the first time how grey/white I had gone. This portrait was to be special so what should I do I asked my daughter. Dad she said the time has now come to put a little colour on your hair. The late Leslie Crowther used to dye his hair, as did Jacques Villeneuve so I didn’t feel too effeminate having made my decision. The children giggled and I just growled at them. My daughter returned from the shops with two products. Grecian 2000 and Just for men. I tried the Grecian 2000 for a few weeks but my hair just must not have suited it. And do you know as soon as you stop using it your hair goes back to the original grey colour very quickly. So lets bin the Grecian and tackle this Just for men stuff. It cost my daughter £6.95 at our chemists
I had a look at the web site and was very excited to find how to turbo change my love life. Goodness and all from dying your hair I can’t wait. I have to match my hair to the shade on the box but I may have the wrong one as the pictures show from brown with grey flecks to nearly grey with brown flecks. This is a medium brown colour dye. Ho Hum should I continue after all I am sat here already stripped to the waist and I have some old towels ready. The house for once is empty as granny is shopping so I am going to do it just for you Ho ho. Well the instructions look simple enough to follow and there are two little bottles now sat in front of me so I will proceed with the dyeing. Pour the colour into the applicator bottle and give it a really good shake. Snip off the lid for the applicator bottle. Oh dear where on earth are the scissors. Now I am ready to apply this thick dark gunge to my hair. I will say first that this application is to be performed by Norman who has no professional colouring experience. I have to make sure I get the dye right down to my roots, lather it up and wait just five minutes.
Back now to wash my hair. I should explain I only have a little hair but it does cover my scalp. I look like a toffee apple at the moment so I will only be a moment while I rinse it off. I am going to take five years off my age according to the manufacturers. I am back now and Norman is not a happy granddad at all. Shall I say I look similar to Quinten Crisp? Please don’t it is rude to laugh at other people. My beautiful brown hair I was expecting is in fact Orange. Not just a ginger shade of orange I mean full-blown Orange. I will finish this review now as I am going into panic mode. Granny is due back soon and she is going to kill me. Trish is that offer still open for me to come and do your garden for a week. I wondered what it was like - but few men will tell! I often enjoy standing around the hair colourants, and lots of lads want to know how to bleach etc, but I am of the age where older gentlemen are ok coming up to me, and I didn't know if it was ok or not - up til now I have suggested 'female' geared brands of course. Thank you!!
