i have 7 juwel aquariums at the moment and several others , and the rio range is without doubt there best range yet , all the latest tanks come with the new hi-light system , which is basicly a twin light unit with electronic ballast so no more ballests failing , and twin t5 tubes installed , the twin t5 set-up does vastly improve the light in the tank , but as with all elecrtonic ballasts the ballest gets quite hot and the tank temp is slightly increased by this , it is not a problem when keeping tropical fish but for temperate or cold water fish , it is something worth a note. the built in ... more

I got this massive tank to keep tropical fish, having kept fish previously , I was impressed by the all in approach i.e. everything you need is in a black box in the corner, i.e. filter, heater, etc. I must admit apart from the addition of another filter, and some light upgrades it really did work right out of the box. It certainly is the highlight of the room! It dwarfs our 32" TV and not one visitor has managed to get in and out without commenting on it. Some note's not really disadvantages more observations, 1. Think carefully about buying this aquarium.I have had mine 15 months.Recently both lights on the rear unit failed,replacing the tubes didnt work and on inspection could not find the tube starters.I contacted the supplier and was informed that the whole unit has to be replaced at £90 +vat.I wasnt informed of this when i bought the tank Surprise ,surprise.The dealer reluctuntly gave me the number of Jewel UK he said i get a lot of hassle if i give the number out .The person i spoke to was very dismissive and said that customers dont look after the units and thats why they fail, which didnt make ... more
