Advantages: Free hands for mum! Disadvantages: Strap can dig in to your shoulder
When I had done all the main shopping for my forthcoming baby, I was left thinking 'what else can I buy that I might possibly need'? This is when I came upon the idea of a baby sling. I considered other more traditional style baby carriers, but thought that a sling might be easier since I was planning to breastfeed. Also the sling is purported to 'hold baby in a more natural position', & provide comfort since they are more cocooned & in a foetal position. This was a big plus point to me since it's not good for baby's spine to be sat in a more upright position.
I did my research & really liked the sound of the Premaxx baby sling. Probably mainly because I'm a sucker for European design & the Premaxx sling does look really funky! I chose the 'Sporty' version - I think perhaps it's now discontinued - the only place I could find it was ...
Advantages: comfy, colourful, handy, small to store Disadvantages: Hard to do the first time
I am writing this review after buying this product after i seen it in Eastenders! I hope my review is hepful.
**Packaging**
The sling comes in a white and purple box which has a clearbit on the back so you can see the colour of the sling inside. The front has a picturewith a woman holding her baby inthe sling. On one side there is drawings of the 8 different posistions for carrying. And on the other side there is a brief desciption of what the baba sling is and does. The sling itself folds down quite compacty. Would fit within a nappy bag and even comes with it's own matching little carry bag (see pics
**How Does It Work**
The baba sling works using two buckles that go around your back and a hammock style piece of material that your baby just slides into. You put the sling on first and adjust the straps so that they feel ...
Advantages: Can be used from 6 months as a hip carrier Disadvantages: Very uncomfortable and difficult to use
I bought this sling when my baby was 4 weeks old thinking that it would be nice to have him close to me and be able to get my arms back. It appealed to me because it was advertised that the baby would be in a natural position.
All I found was disappointment. My little boy looked cramped and uncomfortable and I found it really hard to put him in on my own. Maybe this would take practice, but everytime I used it I just felt awkward and it was really uncomfortable for me. The way you position the carrier means that a large plastic adjuster is resting on your shoulder, this becomes quite painful after a while.
If you want a good baby carrier buy the Baby Bjorn which is easy to use and comfortable for both baby and you, Don't waste your money on this sling, spend a bit more and be comfortable. ...
