I've had my car now for just over two years, and during that time have had no real problems with it. I think it's great and definitely worth the money.
When I first went to look at the Sedona in the showroom I was a bit disconcerted by the size of it and was very tempted to opt for something smaller instead. However, once driving it, it is very easy to get used to the size. It doesn't feel as big as it is, I think mostly because it's nice and high up and very easy to see everything around you. I had got used to driving it by the time I had got it home from the dealership (about a 15 minute drive) and the size was never really an issue.
As mentioned, I have never had any real problems with it, save for an issue with the clutch cable becoming a bit slack about 6 months ago, which was soon sorted out under the warranty.
There is absolutely loads of space inside, which makes it great for going on holiday with the family. There's plenty of room for a family of 4 or 5 plus luggage without having to resort to a roof rack, although the Sedona does have roof bars as well. I have used it for family holidays and also for transporting furniture. It is very easy to remove the back and middle seats for if you are using it to transport things rather than people - they just clip in and out.
One thing some people have said is that it lacks storage space etc. I personally don't mind this, as it means there is more space inside, which makes it ideal for transporting things. The model I have does not have a centre console, which makes it ideal for transporting things such as long shelves, although I believe that the new models do now have a centre console and additional storage spaces.
The Sedona is not big on gadgets, (one of the reasons I think is so that they can keep the price low). It does however have a DVD player in the back, which comes as standard and is worth its weight in gold when it comes to keeping a four-year-old entertained on an eight hour journey!
The Sedona was £17,000 when I bought it (for a middle of the range model). I'm not sure of the current price, but I do know that it is still considerably cheaper than most vehicles of a similar size and style. I do not believe that this is because it is not as good. Maybe it has a few less extras than some of them, but it is comfortable, practical, easy to drive and full of space - just what I need! All in all I believe it to be very good value.
In addition to this, I have found the customer service at the dealership second to none. They offer a free wash and vac service and free collection and drop off from your home for services, with a loyalty scheme. I bought my car new and was told it would most likely be about two weeks before they could get hold of one of the colour and specification I wanted. I got a phone call two days later to say that they had located one, it was on its way and they would have it ready for me to collect three days after that. The staff are also friendly and helpful.
The only disadvantage as far as I am concerned is the fact that the size of the car makes it difficult to park. You can't just put it in any space in any car park. I have had problems in car parks with small spaces and ones without a lot of manoeuvring room. That said, I don't really see this as being a huge issue - I can always find SOMEWHERE suitable to park it. As far as I'm concerned it is a minor issue.

...the road and saw the Kia Sedona. It looked very spacious, a nice smooth curvy body. We went to our local Kia dealers and had a look at the different models of Sedona they had. We didn’t want a second hand one in case anything happened to it we would not of had a fall back plan. We looked at the Kia Sedona SX and decided that this was the one for our family and us.
We could fold all the back seats down and push them forward and have a large backspace ... ...High spec makes the Kia a winner. Air con, central locking, ABS at a very reasonable price make this motor stand well above all other makes. Compared to a Galaxy or Espace the Kia is more like a large conservatory rather than a small greenhouse. In short, the Kia Sedona is the best MPV on the market. The Kia Sedona has

...is also covered by the Kia Warrenty because the dealer fitted it.
Engine and Economy - We have the 2.9 Common Rail Diesel Injection Auto. The hand book says that it has a 75L tank but I've driven it 20 miles into reserve twice now and only managed to get 65l into it.
Out of those 65 litre tanks I manged to get around 350 miles - but I'm expecting that to rise a little as I'm trying to familiarise myself with an automatic again. I've also been driving ... ...what it can do - but the novelty factor will wear off soon!
Lovely smooth engine and very quiet too compared to the 1.9 diesel I had in the Galaxy.
Will sit at 2500rpm at 85mph. But bigger engine, less work to do I suppose.
Styling - Love the look of the car, we have it in Imperial Blue with Privacy Glass and alloy wheels. I think the dark colour makes the car look great and the privacy glass adds a certain something.
The air intake on the front ...

Why didn't we take the plunge sooner? We have 3 children and this car has put an end to all the squabbles! (Well in the car anyway ;-) ) . Modelled on the Chrysler Voyager and at a fraction of the cost, this car is a real bargain. You don't get quite so many buttons to fiddle with, but everything you need is there. There is even a little treasure box in the rear for the children to hide their goodies in!
Driver and passenger airbags, plenty of leg ... ...can be folded back for front and middle seats. The sliding doors on either side are a must with a people carrier, especially in public car parks. You can access your children in their car seats without getting a slipped disc in the process!
The tinted windows to the rear mean that if you have property in the boot, it isn't on full view as there is no cover over the luggage space. Talking of which, there is plenty of room for the family shop. I tend ...

...day). I had to beg KIA Assist to let me have a vehicle for the duration of my hols which they did, but has cost me £130.00 insurance.
Overall, the car is good value for money, offering more space than its rivals but I think would benefit from being fitted with the 2.5 engine as fitted to the Sorento with regard to fuel economy. I would also recommend getting rid of it when the warranty expires, as repair costs are frightening.
Also, just for Torr.

Up there with the rest as regards luggage space, i.e. not enough with 6 pax though you can move the seats around and comprimise on legroom. That said, legroom is better on all rows compared with Galaxy etc. Passengers love it, as do my family with regards to comfort. Gearchange is tractor ...

Advantages: Cheaper than the average people carrier and has nice touches like the multi position seats and plush upholstery. Disadvantages: The fit and finish is not perfect in places and some peole may worry about Kia being an unknown make.
We recently bought a Kia Sedona S with a 2.5 V6 engine. Overall we are very impressed. The seven seats are extremely versatile and although they cannot be completely removed they can be folded and pushed to the front. The two centre seats can be rotated to face the rear and there are lap belts to use in this position. They also all recline, even the rear bench seat. There are various positions for the seats so you could have more luggage room if needed ... ...The list price for this car is £13995 which is a lot cheaper than equivalent people carriers from other countries. We also found a garage doing a limited special offer of £10995 with any part ex.
The driving position is high, more like a van than a car but personally I like it as you can see more at road junctions. Some people though may be put off by this.
The inside is very roomy which is helped by the completely flat floorpan. This also makes ...

Advantages: Very spacious and excellent fuel consumption Disadvantages: Interior trim could be better
Having driven a Sedona for 3 years now, both the old turbo diesel model and now the new CRDi,I have to say that pound for pound it is the best value people carrier around.Very spacious interior with a 2-2-3 seating arrangement, which in my opinion allows better access to the rear than the Galaxies etc.The 143BHP diesel engine is a must over it's petrol version solely due to the greater fuel consumption(averages 38 m.p.g.)and far superior residual values. The basic trim version at £14445 on the road is the cost of an Astra estate, and there's no competition here.I opted for the LX or mid-range at £16445,which gave me air-con and EBD(electronic brake distribution)and improved upholstery.Having three kids,I also opted to have an overhead DVD system fitted.I must admit to having driven umpteen people carriers in the quest to find the right one ...

Advantages: Big, comfortbale, good fuel economy, very versatile Disadvantages: very expensive to repair, shocking build quality, noisey
without window use and central locking for 5 months.
Fan controls 1 and 2 ceased to work months ago - bought a new switch, no good - problem in the wiring.
Replaced high level brake cluster - £220, water pump £200+, air con is now on it's way out.
During winter months a foul smell and jet like noise emit from under the car - never had an answer as to what this is.
However, the biggie came at 83,000 miles when the car died and lost all power to the brakes whilst driving up a country road. Called out the recovery truck and had it towed to the dealer.
Call a day later to say the timing belt had come off, engine mashed, need a new one at a cost of £3500!
had no other option but to foot the bill.
I have just traded the car in at a value of £4200 agains a six month old KiaSedona CRDi 2.9 LE.
I liked the galaxy untill it all started ...
Advantages: Good Turning Circle, economy, reliability Disadvantages: Low torque engine, short weelbase gives choppy ride
although you need to stir up the gearbox when the hills get steep (not a problem solo). On the way back from Spain there is a very long, very steep climb over the French Border, the speed dropped to 30mph but the car dug in its heels and made it up with no hint of over heating.
The only thing I would change if I could would be the petrol engine, a turbo-diesel would have been nicer for towing, it is revvy and not full of torque but it is reliable.
I am now looking to buy a KiaSedona 2.9TD as this will make towing easier but I am hanging on to the Sportage and hope to write another review at 200,000 miles! ...
