Having 5 children we needed some thing a bit bigger than the rover we had. We started to look around and visit web sites for a people carrier. We also looked at the ones that we passed on the road and saw the Kia Sedona. It looked very spacious, a nice smooth curvy body.

We went to our local Kia dealers and had a look at the different models of Sedona they had. We didn’t want a second hand one in case anything happened to it we would not of had a fall back plan. We looked at the Kia Sedona SX and decided that this was the one for our family and us.

We could fold all the back seats down and push them forward and have a large backspace if we needed it, also when the seats were upright and pushed forward there was quite a lot of space in the boot department, which we were surprised about.

The engine is beautiful and runs really smooth. We had to visit family up north and piled all the kids in and went. The journey was great. The road handling is very good and it kind of glides along the road and is very pleasent to drive, steering it is very easy we have had no problems with it. Even parking it is easy which was a shock as its not a small car.

There’s loads of legs space in the front and back seats and a passage walk way that I could walk up to the back seat if the kids needed me. The spacious front driving space is very good as my other half is 6ft 4 inches tall and he still has legroom free.

The heating in the Sedona is brilliant on cold days you turn the heating on and in 10 minutes need to turn it down as it is so warm. It has electric windows and wing mirrors which can be adjusted from the drivers seat on the door and a button on the passenger door to put the window up and down.

There is cup holders in the back on the sides, little compartments for books, pens or what ever you want to keep in there, push out drinks holders in the front and a space under the front passenger seat were you can keep magazines.

The doors have large holders in and don’t get in the way. The two back doors slide open and have child locks on so children can’t open them and fall out. The spare wheel is situated under the back of the Sedona and inside the boot there is a jack in case you need to change your tyre.

The Sedona we have is a 2.9 turbo diesel Automatic in highland green metallic. It has 7 seats with the middle 2 being able to turn around so that they can face the other way which is brilliant for long journeys with the kids, and they have to seat belts on them one lap belt and one shoulder belt for which ever way that you have the seats. It came with a stereo and tape player, a pop compartment for glasses above our heads in the front (where my other half leaves his sunglasses). It also has central door locking that is very good.

The 2.9 diesel engine leaves boy racers sitting at the lights, their faces are a picture when this monster leaves them sitting. 300+ miles from a tank means more money in your pocket, great performance all round. From a looks point of view, this MPV is the most un-MPV looking model around. With a wide body and chunky styling it looks more like a field combat vehicle than a delivery van.

It cost us £14,995 to buy you can get the Sedona cheaper depending on were you buy it from and if its new or used. I think it is worth every penny we paid for it.

High spec makes the Kia a winner. Air con, central locking, ABS at a very reasonable price make this motor stand well above all other makes. Compared to a Galaxy or Espace the Kia is more like a large conservatory rather than a small greenhouse. In short, the Kia Sedona is the best MPV on the market.

The Kia Sedona has

· 143BHP 2.9 Turbo Diesel Engine or 2.5 V6 Petrol Engine
· Automatic Option on both Petrol and Diesel Models
· Power Steering
· Central Locking
· Twin Sliding Doors
· Electric Windows
· Dual Airbags
· Expansive Windows
· Roof Rails
· 7 Flexible Seats

Kia have a web site the address is www.kia.co.uk where you can look at the full range of Kia cars available and a search engine to find the Kia dealer closest to you.

I love the Sedona and wouldn’t want any other car when the kids are bigger and left home I’m planning to buy a car from the Kia range as there cars are brilliant.
So if you’re in the market for a people carrier take a look at the Sedona you’ve got nothing to lose by doing so.

Great review, very helpful for me as the Kia Sedona is our dream car. You never know we might just get a windfall, buy one tomorrow but until we can, thanks for shedding light on it. :)

Good review, it looks like you needed the same things in a car as I do, it took a long time to decide on a Kia, I looked at a Mercedes V-class, grand espace and grand voyager because of the need for space. The only concern with the Kia is the NCAP crash test, this wasnt as good as it is for a grand espace, but I figure that riding my motorbike to work everyday is going to be even worse in a crash! I have a lot of car for my money compared to all the previously mentioned vehicles with good reliability and economy compared to the V-class and grand voyagers I could afford. The only thing I dont like... the grille, I prefer the new one but I can live with an ugly radiator grille.

Sounds like a daft thing to say, but where are you from?? I have only seen Kia's in Kent you see and someone I knew in London has never heard of Kia! I learnt to drive in a Kia Pride and if I ever had a new car that wasn't a new VW charcoal grey beetle I would have one of those! Great op and I'm pleased you found your ideal car! Love Kayla xxx
