Having a family of 4 as well as 3 Boisterous Labradors I was looking for a car with Space and Style that would not need Refuelling twice a week. I looked at various people carriers before deciding on a Kia Sedona, Mainly because I had never heard of Kia. The Salesman was well informed and seemed to have a genuine passion when selling the finer points of the car, which is always encouraging. But did I want a Kia Sedona? My nearest Kia garage was, at that time, some 40 miles away. A long way to go if something relatively minor goes wrong. As part of my decision making process I apprehended a Gentleman in the railway station car park as he was getting into his Kia Sedona. He was generally pleased with his car and was even happier with the money he had saved compared to other, better known but more expensive People carriers. So I decided to go for it. A relatively short time later (8 weeks from placing the order to driving off the forecourt) I had my Kia Sedona. The inside of the car is smart yet understated. Grey leather and fake walnut is used sparingly and the Slot type CD player is a welcome change from the type with the auto-changer in the boot. The seats are quite comfortable giving good support and the leg room is excellent on all 3 rows of seats. One problem with the seats is the weight. If you need to remove the seats for any reason they are surprisingly heavy, also I had a problem with one of the seats in that it would not click back into its runners properly when being reinstalled; I had to sit on it heavily to get it to click in. As far as driving goes the Kia Sedona is generally good. It has power in the right places although it can sound a little like a tractor when it is Idling. By far the worst thing about the Kia Sedona is the turning circle, or lack of turning circle, it is woefully inadequate especially when you are trying to park in a tight spot. That aside I am quite pleased with my Kia Sedona, if you can get over the fact that it is not from a “fashionable” manufacturer you will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Advantages: Sliding doors, seat configuration of 2:2:3, relatively cheap, good boot space. Disadvantages: having to take out the radio/cd player each night.
