After monitoring the magazines at the time (12 month ago) the Kodak DC200 came out on top regarding picture quality compared to price and was the main factor in making a purchase. Compact Flash card was important as I wanted to increase the cameras capacity, with the 16mb card I can store nearly 60 pictures at high resolution, good enough for A4 reproduction, and well over 120 at low resolution, good enough for net use. Having recently found a very good stitch programme (see http://panorma.com) the results are absolutely stunning and can be thoroughly recommended. A screw mount is also useful to add zoom, wide angle and macro lens, which I have done and the results justify the cost. It can take rechargeable batteries, a must when using the LCD screen and when using the extra lens. As well as the features mentioned above, the ability to increase/decrease the exposure is extremely useful for bright/dull shots, especially night time, fireworks, illuminated building etc. Have now taken well over 1000 exposures (28/8/00) and although I have an SLR and a Compact, the DC200 is carried everywhere. Can thoroughly recommend.
