I spent the most part of the end of last year taking driving tests, it was actually 4 times, but it seemed like a lot more! I got so nervous that when I sat in the car with the examiner on my first test I actually wanted to just jump straight back out, I stalled before we had even left the centre, and I was just a wreck. My driving instructor recommended I gave Kalms a try to see if they helped. I also started taking them a few months ago when my doctor diagnosed that I was suffering from depression and wanted to prescribe me anti-depressants, I wanted to give these Kalms another try first to see if they would help.

Information

Kalms can be purchased for around £6 for 200 tablets from supermarkets and chemists.

The dosage information is 2 tablets 3 times a day after food, no more than 6 tablets a day.

My experience

The bottle of Kalms tablets come in a blue cardboard box. The bottle is slightly tinted and contains all the normal information you would find on medicine packaging. The tablets themselves are really small, I would say the smallest tablet I’ve ever taken and due to the sugar coating I could easily take the 2 tablets at the same time with a drop of water.

I started taking the tablets a few days before my second driving test as I thought they may take a few days to take effect. However, they didn’t make me feel any different to the first test in the slightest. I still sat in the drivers seat wanting to jump out as soon as the examiner told me to set off, I was a nervous wreck yet again. Thanks Kalms, I wasted £6 trying to calm down and it didn’t work!

So I worked out that Kalms didn’t help my driving test nerves, I tried rescue remedy for my third test but that didn’t work either. The only thing that calmed my test nerves were the betablockers that my doctor prescribed, I took them then passed, hurrah! Anyway, fast forward to a few months ago, the stress of my daughter not sleeping, being badly behaved, hurting other children, I turned into a recluse. I didn’t want to leave the house, I worried about what other people might think, didn’t want to be THAT parent that everyone talks about, I was sad and alone, being a single parent is hard at the best of times, add all the problems into it and I was a mess. We originally went to the doctors because I couldn’t cope with the rubbish sleep, he then went on to diagnose me as depressed and wanted to give me some anti-depressants. I wasn’t very happy to take anti-depressants, and I still had the bottle of Kalms in my cupboard so I gave them another go.

Again, the Kalms tablets had no effect whatsoever. I took them for a couple of weeks this time, thinking they might of needed longer to take effect, but nothing. I was still a recluse, hiding at home. I think the Kalms were useless, I was taking tablets and not seeing any changes.

Saying all of this though, my friend takes these as she suffers from anxiety and couldn’t recommend them enough. I don’t really know why they work for her and not me. So if you were thinking about trying them, give them a try and see if they work for you.

I wouldn’t recommend these based on my experiences, but it really does seem like it’s a bit hit and miss whether or not they will work for you. The price is quite steep too, I seemed to have just chucked my £6 in the bin!
