wait on death row for their final sentence. One is a flawed mercenary, the other a medicated psychopath. The two are forced to embark on a violent and chaotic journey, hating each other every step of the way.Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is a story-driven, fully co-operative third-person action shooter title, with intuitive crew mechanics, heavily populated destructible real-world scenarios, a volatile partnership and brutal attitude.
Advantages: Gritty, starts off promising, good set pieces. Disadvantages: bad controls, get repetative, story is to hectic.
Kane & Lynch, what can i say about this title? well, you either love it or you hate it. It's that simple. You play the part of Kane a man standing of the destruction of his own life trying as hard as he might to salvage what he can. By his side, or on his case rather is Lynch, a psychotic madman who is a much of a hinder as he is a help. He's there to keep check on Kane as he fulfills one last mission in the vein attempt his previous boss's don't tear him or his family apart.
Game play wise, it's fairly basic stuff in that you run, shoot, collect ammo and repeat. It has some lovely set pieces that see you attempting bank jobs and prison breaks and this is the part of the game thats full of the "did you see that!?!" factor but then it strays away from this and you end up taking you characters hundreds of miles across seas and into war ...
Advantages: Excellent storyline, superb characters, witty dialogue, dark humour! Disadvantages: Online Play rarely works for me
Kane & Lynch is a game that has received rather mixed reviews amongst fans, I however got a very one sided impression of the game!
Kane & Lynch (from the makers of the Hitman series) follows the trials and tribulations of the notorious pair as they go on a mission for survival and revenge leaving havoc in their wake (not to mention a fair few bodies).
The characters are highly likable with dark-yet-hilarious humour opposed by less slick, more gritty sentiments. The development of the storyline is excellent and builds towards one of the most respectable endings I've seen in any game. The levels are well laid out and the shooting even feels good (one complaint I read about the game was referring to the shooting however I felt it was one of the more realistic shooters)!
I hope we get to see a sequel to this arguable masterpiece ...
Advantages: Good game Disadvantages: Some missions are somewhat difficult
Kane and Lynch: Dead Man is the first in the said to be big franchise of Kane and Lynch by IO Interactive. Imagine Grand Theft Auto, add a partner and you'll get this game. Manufacturer's product description
With the Hitman series already well established, Danish developer Io Interactive are not exactly masters of the family friendly game. This latest effort is their most violent and shocking yet, as you take control of reluctant mercenary Kane and his schizophrenic partner Lynch. Neither character likes the other but for the purposes of the story they have to work together in a series of violent third person shoot outs. By default you control Kane, with the computer or another player taking on the role of Lynch. As the game progress you will also be able to recruit a team of up to eight mercenaries, with your reputation determining the quality of the personnel applying for the job. Ordering your squad around is easy enough but since any of them, particularly Lynch, can have completely different objectives to you, they won't always take orders - particularly if they've taken a dislike to you already - which is a real problem when you want them to administer some first aid.Although it is much more action packed than the Hitman games, there are obviously similarities between the two games, with highly interactive environments and multiple ways to approach any problem. One particular highlight already demonstrated involves a kidnapping at a rave with Kane & Lynch firing into the air to disperse a large crowd of dancers before engaging in a brutal gun battle with security guards, as the sound and music system continues to flash and blare. If the rest of the game is just as inventive with its scenarios then Io may well keep Kane and Lynch alive for a little longer.HARRISON DENT
