Advantages Advantages Kept 1 of my dogs happy for a while

Disadvantages Disadvantages I never got to play fetch with it

~I wanted a rubber chicken, so I got a dog so I could have one!~ Even before I got Red, my first dog, I knew that when I did, I just had to get a rubber chicken for him to play with. I was inspired by the EBay advert on TV round about that time, you may remember it yourself. My son and I would really rip it out of the advert, making up our own items etc. We'd begin to get really silly and end up in hysterical fits of laughter. But that advert did stay in my mind and even now I can remember it quite clearly. Anyway once I got Red I decided he needed some toys so off I went in search of a rubber ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Texture, shape, boring!

My dogs have had their rubber chicken for a good few months now and although it is (suprisingly) still in one piece it very rarely actually gets played with and they much prefer their softer textured toys rather than this as it is quite hard and it's not very flexibe or easy to play tug of war with either. There are heaps of different brands of rubber chickens available as they're a very popular dog toy and I've seen them in supermarkets and pet shops but the one that we have is from Zooplus. I buy my dogs dry food from this website and decided to have a browse through their selection of dog ... more

My setter has had numerous toys ;some lasting a lot longer than others! He especially loves any toy that squeaks . When I was in my local pet shops a few months ago I spotted a funny looking roaster complete with loud squeak and knew it would meet with the setter seal of approval! Not only did the toy look fun but it had also been reduced to just a few pounds. The roaster is made of soft latex and is advertised as being suitable for all dogs . If latex is swallowed by a dog it wont go hard in their stomach and should easily be passed through their system without causing any problems. However ... more

    4 Stars Rubber Chicken 20/07/2011

    Advantages Advantages looks funny

    Disadvantages Disadvantages noise

Our dog has amassed a huge number of various toys over the years, one of whic is his Karlie ubber Chicken. We bought it for about £2.00 as I semm to remember, from Zooplus.com and it arrived quite soon asfter had ordered it, so no waiting about. It is 24cm in length and when it was brand new it really stunk strongly as it is made from latex and it took a while for the smell to disappear. It is designed for all size gogs, but personally I don't think you'd want to give a massive breed of dog this toy as the latex does begin to come off in little bits after a while, even though our dog hasn't ... more

Advantages Advantages Durable, rinse off under the tap easily, easy to throw, dogs loved them

Disadvantages Disadvantages squeakers didn't squeak for long, not for unsupervised play

one of my dogs, an ex-sheepdog named Misty, adores anything that looks remotely like a small furry/feathered thing she can herd. My other dog, Fly, is still a pup but very gentle with her mouth. so, naturally, when I found this online fairly cheap (around £3-£4 by what I can remember) I had to get my dogs one each. my collies have a 3ft long wicker basket, overflowing with toys they eventually lose interest with, so i wasn't expecting much. the toy the chicken is pretty much what the name suggests - a squeaky rubber chicken toy. it is made of rather flimsy material, but isn't thin enough to ... more
