I now have Karndean in 3 out of my 4 bedrooms so consider that I am quite familiar with this product. I firstly had Karndean fitted in my brand new loft conversion and went for the Knight Tile... more

Advantages Advantages durable, practical and versatile

    Disadvantages Disadvantages quite expensive

Upon moving into my house nearly a year ago my partner suggested that we get kardean flooring on our lower ground floor. I had never before heard of this brand so decided to investigate it further, I visited the brand website and from there ordered samples of the designs I liked. It took about a week for the samples to arrive and I also received a brochure explaining benefits of this product and showing the full range available. We decided to go for woodplank from the Knight-Tile Range in the Sienna colour which is similar to a natural rosewood look. We made the decision to have the planks ... more

Advantages Advantages Great real wood look, hard-wearing, level

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive, specialised fitting

Karndean flooring is a vinyl flooring which makes a quality alternative to the laminate flooring and real wood flooring more commonly found. Once laid the flooring shares the aesthetically pleasing look of a real wooden floor but has the more hard wearing advantage of a good laminate floor. For this reason the product has widespread commercial use and can be seen in shopping centres, etc. where it needs to withstand extreme levels of use. Karndean does offer differnt ranges, including the Hand-Crafted Wood Collection. Within this range, I decided on a Hickory Peppercorn which looks great ... more

    User doesn't recommend the product

Advantages Advantages vinyl tiles are a good type of flooring option

Disadvantages Disadvantages Karndean is a RIP OFF search for lesser priced alternatives

The main point of my review is to inform you about Karndean flooring...and how you can get the look and quality of Karndean but pay over 60% less. In brief the following statement summaries my review: Karndean (Brand Name) = Luxury Vinyl Tile Flooring its like: Kellogs = Brand of Cereal TIP: Go to Google or Yahoo and search for the term "luxury vinyl tiles" or just "vinyl tiles" and find a supplier who sells this type of flooring. As Karndean is a brand name for vinyl floor tiles, you may find unknown brands which are around 60% cheaper...i found some on www.flooring.uk.com which i picked up ... more

    User doesn't recommend the product

    Advantages Advantages None

Disadvantages Disadvantages Scratches, becomes dull and gets huge gaps

We ordered the karndean da vinci flooring and what a RUBBISH product. After paying £2800, The installer came to fit, after the day was done, we had "gorgeous" floors. After a few days the gaps started to show on all the boards. We ordered the most expensive of the product range available so expected it to be the best, this is almost £1000 more expensive than wood. The gaps have gotten worse than ever and we have 2 - 3 mm gaps almost on every board (we were assured that this vinyl doest not expand and contract enough to notice any visible gaps and that it does not scratch as it is extremely ... more

Advantages Advantages Scratch proof beautiful durable waterproof

    Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive

I've had wood in my lounge and found it scratched like crazy. My fat aunty and heels last christmas made me squirm in my chair and its completely ruined within a year it looks tatty and worn, so when i decieded to get my hall carpet replaced although i love the look and feel of wood theres no way i'd consider putting it intop such a heavily used area!!! A friend of mine recommended karndean as an alternative as it doens't scrath and looks very realistic. I then went top me local retailer and was impressed by the look and feel but not the price i couldn't believe how much they wanted to charge ... more
