Advantages: Lovely dynamics Disadvantages: could be a bit more responsive
I played this piano for the first time today, it really makes a difference when you play a grand which has more length to it, the sound is louder and clearness of each note really stands out. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this piano and would recommend it to any one who is thinking about buying a new grandpiano on a reasonable budget. I also liked the style and thought it looked particulary professional in ebony with a polyester finish. However when I looked at pianos such as Bechstein and Steinway you can tell the difference in quality, like going to buy a ford car and then trying a BMW. But I suppose that reflects in the prices. Anything smaller than this piano I've been told probably isn't worth it at a professional level. Babygrands only really serve the purpose of looking nice. ...
Advantages: Our best buy yet without doubt Disadvantages: Legs don't detatch once assembled as far as we can tell.
My 10 month old son has had the babygrand for 3 months now and still loves it, he sits at it several times a day to play!
Now that he can stand he also loves finding all the extra musical sliders and buttons behind the music book too.
This has been an extremely worthwhile toy - very educational as well as great fun. There are so many settings with varieties of music/ play options.
I found that once the legs were attached, they couldnt be removed again but I don't know if there is a way to do this. It isnt a problem however as Im sure it will proudly sit in the living room for a while yet- even my neices who are 5 and 8 had a wonderful time playing with it!
I cannot fault the babygrandpiano, its a fisher price classic. ...
Advantages: sounds, key action, responsiveness, sturdy Disadvantages: no dedicated windows driver supplied
I purchased the kawai MP4 in Jan 07. This is my first "portable full size piano". I action of the keys is unbelievable and exactly as a real piano. The touch response can be customised to fit the style of the player and also each sound can also be customised.
The MP4 has 64 onboard sounds which can all be altered, shaped and programmed to suit and then saved. The recent firmware upgrade provided by Kawai means that theres 264 memory allocation spaces to save your settings. The sounds can also be mixed together and custonised (up to 4 at once).
The midi functions of the MP4 are in a class of their own. The onboad sounds can be "mixed" with external sounds and each turned on and off at the touch of a button. Most dedicated Midi controller keyboards do not have as many functions on as the MP4!
The sounds are very realistic and not ...
