Advantages Power, Handling, Looks

Disadvantages Component quality

Wow,

I bought my ZX6-R last November, just before the 636 was due to be released so I got it for 5000 new.
This bike has power and plenty of it, revving high and fast though still having enough low down grunt so you don't have to be constantly changing (unless of course you want to!)

The handling is excellent, wether you are throwing her into a long fast curve or braking hard into a hairpin she does exactly what you tell her and begs for more too. Spealing of braking into hairpins, with twin 6 pots on the front you can get the back up at almost any speed.
She is stable and glued to the road flat out too, it read 160 on the clock with a little more to come.

For a sports bike, there is comfort too, I took my ZX6 down through france last month, doing up to around 800 miles in a day and wasn't in any pain at all!!
Looks, obviously, are something special.... though I guess thats a matter of taste, I was lucky enough to get a blue one instead of that horrible green!

The downside? not much I have to say, a tendency to overheat quickly in traffic, or maybe thats me just being paranoid having a digital temp gauge for the first time!
The bolts around the frame are steel, not even stainless and have started to corrode very quickly.
A clutch lever that isn't adjustable, which my tiny little hands struggle with.
and lastly, a terrible turning circle!! Am I being picky? At least the tank bag doesn't turn off the indicators!
All in all I couldn't ask for a better bike, it's shortcomings are easily corrected or just accepted and it's a great trade off between the power of the big bikes and the handling of the scratchers. I will be riding this bike for a long time to come.
If you love riding hard.... stop reading this and go out and try one on for size!

My Dad has a Kawasaki 550 and its a gorgeous bike that looks more like a 1000cc. It has a beautiful maroon petrol tank too. Anyway - sorry for the rating but I feel that you could have added more info. Love Kayla xxx
