Let the good times roll!

Advantages: Speed!!, Looks
Disadvantages: Acceleration, a small bit on the heavy side.

I had the chance to ride a second hand 2001 E model when it was standing on our floor a while ago.

This one was fitted with a full Yoshimura exhaust system with LCD display and buttons for optimum fine tuning. At first the bike felt heavier and bigger than I thought but comfy and roomy enough even for a tall bloke like me.

Speed: Acceleration did not impress me much but it didn't take long before I saw 298km/h on the ...
...brakes which brought things to a quick halt.... not bad far 900cc oldie!!

Handling: Suspension lacked nothing to my knowledge although leaning into and out off corners took more effort and counter steering than I expected and the bike did feel a bit heavy

Overall a great bike which is a thrill to ride and does everything well. A steal if you can get you’re hands on one.  ... more

Kawasaki ZX9R F1P

Advantages: It makes you smile (a lot)
Disadvantages: When you cane it the petrol really disappears !

back down to ground level from the high I am currently on. So wot is it then ? A bike that no doubt is not top of the fashion stakes for most people, is not the fastest or most nimble handling and again, for some folks, is not the sexiest looking thing on two wheels – if you believe any of the dross in the bike mags that is – step forward the much maligned Kawasaki ZX9R. My machine is a 2002 F1P model in a lovely silver colour with 9800 miles on the clock – barely run in. A piccie will appear in my profile shortly – check it out – I think it is beautiful ?????? A few facts and figures for you to get them out of the way. The engine is a Kawasaki stalwart 899 cc across the frame four cylinder nutcase. It runs very noisily at tick over which apparently is a result of the airbox/ram air design letting ...

Kawasaki ZX-9R

Advantages: graet bike
Disadvantages: none

This is a great bike; my uncle owns one and has no complaints about it. Weighing in at 475lbs the zx-9r is no lightweight, but that doesn't count against it anywhere except on a racetrack. On the road the zx-9r is lightning quickly, blessed with masses of mid-range power and a top end delivery that takes your breath away. Accelerating effortlessly from a standstill up to an indicated 170mph without pausing for a breath, the zx9r is the kind off bike that will cover distances quickly, comfortly and with the minimum of fuss. And the best of it is you can pose in it and see heads turn as you go pass. SPECIFICATION Engine: Water-cooled DOHC 16-valve in-line four displacement: 899cc Horsepower: 125bhp @ 10;500rpm Gear Box: 6 speed Frame: Aluminium-alloy twin beam Wheelbase: 56.7ins Weight: 475lbs Top speed: 170 mph ...
