Advantages Advantages POWER, SPEED, COMFORT, ENGINE

Disadvantages Disadvantages DATED, QUICK ROT DOWNPIPES, POOR CALIPERS

BOUGHT THE BIKE BACK IN '94 WHEN IT WAS TOP OF THE SPEED CHARTS. HAD A FEW PROBLEMS (MAINLY DUE TO WINTER RIDING) INCLUDING; SIEZED CALIPERS CAUSING DISC WARPING, EXHAUST DOWNPIPES ROTTING, FORKS PITTING AND WHEELS CORRODING, BUT OTHERWISE THE OLD DOG HAS STOOD UP WELL TO THE 40,000 PLUS MILES I'VE PUT ON HER. FRONT DISCS WERE REPLACED WITH PFM ONES AND EXHAUST REPLACED WITH MICRON 2000 SYSTEM AND RACE CAN (ALSO WITH ZXR750 CARB TOPS AND DYNOJET KIT!!) ENGINE STILL WITHIN MANUFACTURERS TOLERANCES AND DYNO'D AT A RESPECTABLE 136.2BHP AT THE REAR WHEEL. THE TOP SPEED CROWN FELL A WHILE BACK NOW ... more

Advantages Advantages a comfy ride and very fast

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

I write this as a pillion rider of the fantastic ZZR1100, the fastest bike on the road for 6 yrs running (until the Hiabusa (?) came out) Hubby bought it new on an R plate and we still love it. I don't ride as yet but I love to ride pillion on this beast of a machine. From my point of view it's Very Comfortable and I don't sit with my head in the clouds like a lot of pillions do. I don't get the wind nearly taking my lid off as we speed down the road either! The foot rests are easy to find and the grab rail is not too small to fit a gloved hand in. There's plenty of room on the back seat for ... more

    Advantages Advantages Fast, Economical

Disadvantages Disadvantages Heavy, Stock front brake calipers

I bought a 1992 H reg from Ebay last year. I initialy wanted a V-Max, but the Scottish Weather is really not good for that. I wanted a torquey bike that took off when you asked it to. Well the Big Zed does that perfectly. It is fast, nippy and still looking quite fashionable. I managed to do 54mpg on a trip ridden at National Speed Limits (60mph max.) But if you have fun with it you can expect about 170m before the reserve (15l) the tank takes 21l With correct tires, this bike handles perfectly on corners, but I agree it's not a 160kg R1! You'll be in complete comfort whilst you'll see all you ... more

Advantages Advantages POWER, POWER, POWER oh and MORE POWER

Disadvantages Disadvantages Uncomfortable, Very uncomfortable, Uncomfortable in the extreme

I have owned my Big Zed for 18 mounths, having come off - literally - a GSX600F. Bought it second hand with 36,000miles on the clock for £850, spend another £250 getting it fettled and through its MOT then off we went. First thing that strikes you about this bike is the power, second thing is the power , third, the power and in case you havent noticed, the best thing about this bike is the awsome amount of POWER. At slow speeds it is a pussy cat, although a bit heavy on the wrists, but roll the throttle on from around 4,000 revs and this thing will have you grinning from ear to ear like a ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Kawasaki ZZR1100-D1 by stuart888 05/11/2007
I have owned a Kawasaki ZZR1100 D7 for the last 2 years now and having owned many different machines over the years I can say with confidence that the ZZR is a truly impressive bike throughout.Comfort when riding is superb and as for the performance, well what can I say that hasn,t already beensaid "mind blowing" seems fairly accurate when describing the accelleration and speeds that the zzr is easily capable of. So if anybody is reading this wondering whether to buy one, GO FOR IT !!! 10 out of 10 machine for sensible money.
