Whatever next, cereal seems to get more and more hyped up in order to attract children into nagging you to buy it, gone are the days of the humble Rice Krispie or Cocoa Pops.

Now you get the next generation cereal including todays offereing Kellogs Bart Simpsons “ No ProblemOs”.

Well we all know kids love the Simpsons mine included so it ended up in my basket along with the usual solemn promise “ I will eat this every morning, please can I have it”....

Anything for a peaceful life eh, so Bart comes home and is ready and waiting for the next morning..

Well Bart Simpsons No ProblemOs (here I should explain the weird O in the title as it actually is a picture on the box of a loop) is actually frosted multi grain cereal hoops with mini chocolatey biscuits.

I must admit that when I looked at the box, first impressions were the chocolatey biscuits looked like black circle things, well until I bothered to read the packet anyway.

The Chocolatey biscuit thingies are actually about the size of a chocolate button or maybe just a tad bigger, they have pictures of all the Simpsons characters on them in white, and apparently there are 12 to discover..

So now you get the idea, small child gets bowl of these for breakfast, milk added, then proceeds to fish each biscuit out one by one with fingers to look at the picture and moans when the same one pops out over and over again…sigh

The frosted multi grain loops are slightly larger than a Cheerio in size, with a crisp sugar coating.

Oh no do I have to really?, ok then seeing as its you, bowl here now and a handful of Barts and milk at the ready.

Well actually this isn’t quite as bad as I expected, the loops actually taste identical to Cheerios apart from being sweeter due to the sugar coating, the chocolate biscuits are bearable, a little to hard and rather bitter tasting more like a darker chocolate taste.

But overall it is bearable, not something I could go wild on and eat every day, but then as I said its purely kiddie orientated.

An attractive box,of course to jump out at children, blue and yellow with a LARGE picture of Homer and Bart on the front, with their cereal. Plus lots more Simpsons piccies on the reverse of the box.

To be honest apart from the chocolatey biscuits, nothing new here and certainly nothing special taste wise, my son did like them but after several days the novelty wore off, although he’s still being given them every morning, hehe.

However the surprise factor is he’s eating all the loops and leaves the chocolatey biscuit bits, when asked why he said he’s not keen on them, and this is a junior chocoholic here after much training from his mother, so what does that tell you?, they obviously lack that sweet chocolate taste and the bitterness I mentioned earlier doesn’t appeal.

Granted the biscuits look good with all the pictures on them, but another major problem is with the biscuits being bigger and heavier, they tend to go to the bottom, so when tipping it out of the packet you end up with more loops than anything else and will need to dig around to grab some biscuits to add to the bowl!

Kellogs state that the biscuits make up 20% of the pack, but this obviously means with the weight factor as there certainly isn’t an abundance of these per pack.

However I can imagine most parents will be asked to purchase this with it being new and also for the Simpson’s appeal, if it encourages your child to eat their breakfast then it would be worth it, if not then don’t bother stick to the older more trusted varieties!

The box itself contains 350g of No ProblemOs, and retails at around £1.70 per pack depending on individual stores, so again quite pricey.

Each servingof 30g provides at least 25% of your daily needs for 6 B vitamins and is also a great source of calcium and iron,

For those curious enough to know whats in it the ingredients are as follows:
Cereal flours(whole oats, maize), sugar, chocolate flavour biscuits (20%), (wheat flour, sugar, hydrogenated vegetable oil, fat reduced cocoa powder, colour {caramel {E150c}, titanium dioxide}, glucose syrup, flavouring, emulsifier{soy lecithin, mono- and diacetyltartaric acid esters of mono-and diglycerides of fatty acids}, salt), wheat bran, salt, calcium carbonate, tricalcium phosphate, dextrose, sodium bicarbonate, colour (mixed carotenes, annatto), antioxidant (ascorbyl palmitate, alpha tocopherol), niacin, iron, vitamin B6, riboflavin (B2), thiamin (B1), folic acid, vitamin B12.
