Recommending Kellogg's products as a whole is certainly not a problem, their cereals are fantastic, with something to appeal to all! Looking more specifically at Crunchy Nut though, it's not so simple! First of all, it's hardly going to be suitable for those who suffer nut allergies, which rules out quite a number of people! Then I have to cancel out those who dislike sugary sweet breakfast cereals, which deducts even ... more
Being a massive cereal nut, there isn't many types I will not eat, though my mood does alter what I fancy. I decided to let my Dad select the next box of cereal when we were needing to stock up; not necessarily the greatest idea I have ever had! When he returned with Crunchy Nut, I didn't know quite what to think. I'd never tried that before, and was willing to give it a bash, as always. Though, it was not quite as I had imagined!
***** Crunchy Nut is made by Kellogg's; a company first set up in the late 1800s in the USA by a man name William Keith Kellogg, which started to produce Cornflakes cereal. This company became one of the most successful cereal manufactures around, providing breakfast cereals globally. By the 1950s, they had come up wit a wide range of different cereals to suit peoples' tastes. When Crunchy Nut was released, Britain went nutty for the tasty cereal, but what was all the fuss over?
Crunchy Nut cereal are sun-ripened flakes of corn, resembling the similar appearance to Cornflakes. Each flake has been drizzled with clear honey, and mixed with a selection of chopped nuts. Looking at them in the bowl, they seem to be a slightly darker shade of golden than cornflakes, and the little white specks of nuts are clearly visible, stuck to each flake. There seemed to be nothing I could notice about the appearance to resemble honey though.
The consistent texture of the flakes is phenomenal! At first bite, they are incredibly crunchy - ironic, isn't it? What amazed me though is that they hold out this fine texture throughout the bowl, even when they have been smothered by milk. At the stages when most other cereals would begin to soften and turn soggy, Crunchy Nut remain crunchy!
Smelling incredibly nutty and sweet, a great texture is a benefit with this cereal, but the most important factor has to be the taste! But does Crunchy Nut fit the bill? It is undeniable that there is definitely a nutty taste to this cereal, as I had expected! It's certainly sweet too, but in my opinion I would not say it tastes of honey! More like Frosties to be honest; a cereal I am not that keen on! Oddly though, Crunchy Nut are not too bad, though not the best I admit!
By the time I had finished my bowl of cereal, I felt a little bit sick; I can't really eat sugary sweet breakfast cereals a lot, and I think that this one simply didn't agree with me. The actual experience whilst eating though was somewhat pleasant and a slight joy!
Nutrition
Breakfast is known as the most important meal of the day, so it is important that you have a hearty and healthy meal to kick-start the day! Just how good for you are Crunchy Nut?
The main ingredients include; Maize, Brown Sugar (Sugar, Molasses), Peanuts (7%), Sugar, Honey (2%), Barley Malt Flavouring, Salt, Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Niacin, Iron, Vitamin B6, Riboflavin (B2), Thiamine (B1), Folic Acid, Vitamin B12.As a portion size is recommended to be 30g, the sugar content does not seem too bad at all, neither does the fat content! The calories are slightly higher compared to other breakfast cereals I enjoy, but all the same, it's not too bad! oOo Drop-A-Jeans-Size Challenge oOo For those of you who do not know, 'Drop A Jeans Size' challenge suggests that you eat two bowls of Crunchy Nut (or Special K) a day; one for breakfast, then again for lunch or dinner. Providing your third 'proper' meal is nutritionally balanced, then all three meals together will provide you everything you need to keep you going throughout the day, and if you are prone to snacking, Kellogg's have provided a few snack options you can nibble on!
If you continue to do this for the suggested two weeks, you are more likely to lose the weight you would like to, not to mention being full of energy and nutrition! Take note though, Kellogg's have only recommended this diet if you are over the age of 18, and your BMI is over 25 (can be calculated on the site via the link at the bottom of this review).
With the wide range of Crunchy Nut and Special K products, you never need to eat the same cereal portion two bowls in a row, and your snacks too can be alternated! If you do struggle for ideas, again there are tips via the website link.
Products and Availability
Getting you hands on a box of Crunchy Nut should not be a problem; they are stocked in most supermarkets and I have also seen them in the majority of corner-shops I pop into now and then too! Though, this is not the only product of its kind released by Kellogg's! You can also purchase a variety of other goods; Crunchy Nut Clusters Chocolate Curls Crunchy Nut Clusters Honey And Nut Crunchy Nut Clusters Summer Berries Crunchy Nut Nutty Chocolate Peanut Crisp Cereal Bar Crunchy Nuts About You Cereal Bar Crunchy Fruit 'n' Nuts Cereal barI've not tried any of these, so I cannot recommend them; neither have I seen Summer Berries, Chocolate Curls or the Peanut Crisp cereal bars, so I am not sure that they are available to purchase everywhere. If I get the chance, I think Id like to try the Fruit 'n' Nuts cereal bar, and the Crunchy Nut Nutty cereal!

Advantages: Tasty and Healthy! Disadvantages: ????
I don’t know about any of you but I’ve only been eating breakfast for the past few years, before that I tended not to bother that much, being far too grumpy in the morning, I would rather have had an extra 20 minutes in bed than waste it sitting eating.
Then I made a conscious decision to eat a bit healthier which of course included eating breakfast in the morning, so I did go through a variety of different cereals for a while but the ... ...Crunchy Nut Cereal.
Now we’ve all seen the adverts and people that eat Crunchy Nut are portrayed to be driven so mental by the deeelish flava, that they will do anything to get some. I think they taste good but not that good, this has been exaggerated somewhat, obviously an advertising ploy!
Let me tell you a bit about them:
First of all the box describes the contents as 'Golden flakes of corn with brown sugar, peanuts and honey' – ...

Advantages: Very very tasty! Disadvantages: They get eaten too fast
We all eat cereal in our house at most breakfast times – at other times of the day too. So to give everyone something a little bit special over Christmas I bought a very large box of Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Cornflakes. They are a great favourite, but I don’t buy them very often because they get eaten too quickly!
As you may have guessed, from the name of the cereal, they are based on Kellogg’s famous cornflake. At least with this product they have ... ...Cornflakes can be found on the supermarket shelves in boxes of 500g or 750g. A 750g box cost me £2.55 from my local Co-Op. The side of the box tells me that there should be 25 servings in it. Urmm – don’t think so somehow!!
This cereal comes in bright yellow boxes with a picture of the flakes being covered in milk on it. Crunchy Nut is written in black with the Kellogg’s logo at the top in red. Underneath the title is written,’it’s ludicrously tasty’. ...

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!"
How many times have you heard that before? Quite a lot? Yeah, me too...which is why I thought I would do a review of a really great cereal for you. Now there are no excuses anymore for running out of the house and grabbing an apple on the way. WHAT IS THIS 'KELLOGS CRUNCHY NUT CEREAL'?
Well, the box describes it as 'Golden flakes of corn with brown sugar, peanuts and honey'.
They are small flakes, ... ...over. WHAT DO THEY LOOK LIKE?
The flakes are a deep, golden-yellow colour. They are each about 1.5cm long by 1cm wide, though no flakes are identical. Well, I doubt they will be but I’m not going to check them all. The texture of the surface of the flake is all bubbly and rough. It is glazed (with the honey, presumably), and has very tinily chopped nuts. WHAT DO THEY SMELL LIKE?
They smell a little burnt, but it’s cereal – you’re ...

Describe Coco Pops in one word? O.K, ...... Yummy!
They are my son's favourite food of all time. Well, Coco Pops and sausages anyway!
We usually have around 8-9 different boxes of cereal in the house as we always have cereal for breakfast and I find it really boring having to wait until you have finished one or two boxes before trying something different.
Because of this, I only really buy it when it is on offer as we never really need it. Last week I was strolling around my local Tesco's and noticed a few boxes of Kellogg's cereal on offer. They had 600g value packs of both CrunchyNutCornflakes (my favourite!) and Coco Pops (B's favourite!) both on sale at £2 a box! Usually both cereals would cost at least £3 for this size box so they just had to be bought!
I kind of like Coco Pops. Yes, they are chocolatey and very ...

After reading an opinion a few weeks back by Caradawn on Kellogg?s CrunchyNut Red I simply had to go out and grab a box to indulge my fantasies. I love to try out new weird and wonderful cereals and Cara?s opinion gave me some nice information to do just that.
