While the actual trackball is an excellent piece of equipement (big, ergonomic, plenty of buttons), everything else is quite wrong when you buy it.

The price is probably double what it should be, and for that money you get a very lousy customer support: no answers, or automated answers that don\'t pertain to the problem. Another problem is that the drivers are poorly designed and have plenty of conflicts with dotnet applications, like random crashes, components not working, and even freezing windows. Their answer after 5 emails: it\'s a known issue...(nowhere to be found on the website).
Pros: excellent ergonomics and functionality, ball is very big. Cons: price, drivers, customer support, wheel is very noisy, must be cleaned every one-two days.
Advantages: Looks good Disadvantages: The price considering its durability
...was a replacement) of my Kensington mouses . The scroll ring sucks, they need a better bearing than plastic on plastic. After about 1 or 2 months one of the small red trackball supports (keep ball off of cup and rotating freely) fell off, made the ball rough and obnoxious. I got the unit replaced (Kensington was more than hospitable ++) However the unit I got had a finicky USB controller, and it would disconnect from my computer at random, and very ... ...be rare, or not; however Kensington needs to test their products more rigorously and commit to better build materials. This trackball for its cost was and isn't worth it.
Other Thoughts: I had the old turbo mouse from Kensington, and it went with me to London for 2 months, I never had problems with it. This unit ... well Its not built to last in my opinion, and for it's cost, its a darn shame. Get a mouse, or that thumb trackball if you can stand ...

Advantages: Easily configurable for own preference Disadvantages: Position of scrolling wheel
My first experiences of trackballs were the type found on laptops, which are quite small, and I always found difficult to use. When it was suggested at a reassessment of the computer requirement, which I use for university, it was suggested that I consider a trackball to ease the problems that I was having with my hands and using a mouse, I was very sceptical.
After trying out a different model in the Kensington Range, I decided to try it, since then I have never looked back and really hate having to use a mouse on other peoples computers.
The trackball is about 5cm in diameter, which makes it easy to use with multiple fingers and thus easier to manipulate. The four main action keys are located around the trackball in accessible positions that can be reached without having to stretch your fingers meaning less strain is placed ...
Advantages: they will take it back Disadvantages: not Vista compatible
I bought three of these devices only to discover that Kensington do not support it with Vista drivers, meaning that only the bottom two buttons will work with the default Vista drivers. I emailed customer support at Kensington about this problem and they informed me that there are no drivers for Vista and that they are not developing any. They said the mouse works fine with the default Vista drivers anyway, but when I informed them that only the bottom two buttons work as left and right click, they said that that was the best they could do, and would I like to return the product?
This is the best trackball on the market and for it to be made obsolete like this while it is still being sold is absolutely shocking. There are short term workarounds like using XP emulation from Properties etc, but clearly this company has zero interest in ...
