The Kensington SlimBlade Trackball Mouse works where other travel mice can't. The trackball gives you control even when there's no room to move a mouse, then switches to mouse mode with the push of a button. Bluetooth connectivity offers up to 30 feet of range and doesn't use up a USB port.

Not Kensington's finest!
Pros: The trackball runs smooth if operating normally. The looks and feel are good (except the scroll ring).
Cons: First off, I never abused both (one of which was a replacement) of my Kensingtonmouses . The scroll ring sucks, they need a better bearing than plastic on plastic. After about 1 or 2 months one of the small red trackball supports (keep ball off of cup and rotating freely) fell off, made the ball rough and obnoxious. I got the unit replaced (Kensington was more than hospitable ++) However the unit I got had a finicky USB controller, and it would disconnect from my computer at random, and very frequently. So I used my old trackball and just replaced the cup (w/ the red supports (3)) and all was well. Now my scroll ring is acting finicky. It wont detect movement, or it will and...

Advantages: Helps stave off R.S.I. Disadvantages: Larger than a normal mouse
...I started to use a trackball, as a precaution against developing R.S.I. I had read that using a mouse is a contributory factor for R.S.I.
Movement
In order to move the pointer, you place a finger on the ball and then move the ball around. The ball is a pretty shade of blue and the rest of the trackball is silver. It is easy to keep clean and has been working perfectly for some months.
U.S.B.
The mouse has a U.S.B. connection, so make sure you have enough U.S.B. ports. Just plug it in and the software will start to load.
Getting used to it
At first, the trackball was tricky, but now I have got used to it and think that it does help. Also, it stops other family members from wanting to use my computer!!!
Why use a trackballTrackballs can help if you have arthritic hands or do not have much space for a mouse mat.

Advantages: Lovely blue glow Disadvantages: died off eventually
...I bought this mouse prior to the one that I own at the minute. This was bought from PC World for £19.99. This was and I think still is quite a bargain where trackball mice are concerned. The mouse itself takes a little bit of getting uesd to if you are not accustomed to using a trackballmouse. It also has USB connection that can be converted to p/s2 with the little converter that is included.
The mouse itself it quite comfortable. It also glows a nice shade of blue that goes right through the actual plastic ball when touched. All-in-all a great little mouse when it works and with that comment that is the drawback.
Although a great little mouse when workin, when not working it is highly frustrating. The first thing to go is the very pretty blue light, then the ball will stop responding even after cleaning the little wheels...
