Kenwood CH700

Advantages: Quick boil, easy to lift because of the traditional shape.
Disadvantages: Lid could easier to open .

...I purchased this Kenwood SK996 approximately about three months ago because our Russell Hobbs Montana was leaking at the base. We went back to a classical shape which is easier to lift when full. The Kenwood is much quieter when bringing to the boil than the Russell Hobbs Montana. The lid could be easier to remove but it has a good knob to grip hold of with your hand round the handle. I found the clear duel windows easy to read the amount of water in the kettle. I live in a hard water area but the inside seems to be keeping fairly lime free so far. The washable filter is smooth to remove and easy to clean. I would reccomend to my friends that they purchase the Kenwood SS996.... Read review

Advantages: 850 watt cooks quicky - cleans well
Disadvantages: Blows up

...Lovely microwave until it BLOWS UP!! Mine blew up in my kitchen on Saturday morning and a little ball of fire came out of the bottom and rolled along my kitchen surface. SCARED THE LIFE OUT OF ME - NOT TO MENTION DANGEROUS !! I phoned up Kenwood to get the name of whom to address a letter of complaint to and was told that I had to write to Currys because Kenwood (as with a lot of other companies) do not make their own kitchen applicances but Currys make them on their behalf, and they just stick a brand name on the front. This annoyed me cos Kenwood costs a lot more that Currys own brand Matsui ! Moral of the story is buy Currys own brand kitchen appliances it is much cheaper and EXACTLY the same thing as expensive name brands!... Read review

Advantages: Wonderful Bread
Disadvantages: Disappointingly unreliable

...I was given my first Kenwood breadmachine as a Christmas present which malfunctioned and ceased to work within a week. The replacement machine worked well and produced excellent results for six weeks when I noticed that the bread pan kept releasing itself during the kneading cycle. On inspection I saw that the pan had warped causing this problem to happen. I have since found out that this is a common problem with this machine so I would not consider buying another Kenwood until I am totally confident that this problem has been accepted and resolved by the mainufacturers. I have bought many Kenwood items in the past and always found them to be durable and reliable but this problem has resulted in my losing confidence in them.... Read review
