Advantages: Easy. Healthy. Quick. Great Results. Disadvantages: Watch you dont scald yourself.
...I never really understood why people bothered with electrical steamers. Why not just chuck vegetables in a pan of water? Isn’t it just as simple to oven bake fish? And rice cooks perfectly fine in a pan of water. Surely a steamer on my kitchen bench would take up unnecessary space? These were my arguments against a steamer. Andy returned from visiting friends a few months back and raved about the steamed vegetables he’d sampled for his Sunday lunch and how efficient the steamer seemed. A few days later a sale brochure arrived from ‘House Of Frasers’ outlining their kitchen appliance deals. I’ve always trusted Kenwood appliances so when the brochure was advertising their deluxe FS450 reduced form £49.99 to £29.99 I seriously considered the purchase.
As with all new electrical purchases I did some online homework and had a look...

Advantages: Quick boil, easy to lift because of the traditional shape. Disadvantages: Lid could easier to open .
...I purchased this Kenwood SK996 approximately about three
months ago because our Russell Hobbs Montana was leaking
at the base.
We went back to a classical shape which is easier to lift when
full.
The Kenwood is much quieter when bringing to the boil than the Russell Hobbs Montana.
The lid could be easier to remove but it has a good knob to grip
hold of with your hand round the handle.
I found the clear duel windows easy to read the amount of water in the kettle.
I live in a hard water area but the inside seems to be keeping
fairly lime free so far.
The washable filter is smooth to remove and easy to clean.
I would reccomend to my friends that they purchase the Kenwood SS996....

Advantages: 850 watt cooks quicky - cleans well Disadvantages: Blows up
...Lovely microwave until it BLOWS UP!! Mine blew up in my kitchen on Saturday morning and a little ball of fire came out of the bottom and rolled along my kitchen surface. SCARED THE LIFE OUT OF ME - NOT TO MENTION DANGEROUS !!
I phoned up Kenwood to get the name of whom to address a letter of complaint to and was told that I had to write to Currys because Kenwood (as with a lot of other companies) do not make their own kitchen applicances but Currys make them on their behalf, and they just stick a brand name on the front. This annoyed me cos Kenwood costs a lot more that Currys own brand Matsui !
Moral of the story is buy Currys own brand kitchen appliances it is much cheaper and EXACTLY the same thing as expensive name brands!...

What a wonderful piece of equipment!
I got this marvellous machine for my birthday (after months of dropping hints) and am absolutely thrilled.
As one would expect from the Kenwood brand this machine is a joy to have in the kitchen. Previously I... more
I'm not really that much of a cook however when I do prepare things I like to have all the relevant gadgets I need.
My previous processor was old and so I decided to replace it, mainly because I saw that many sites had great deals on them.

This food processor was a replacement for my last Kenwood that expired after over 25 years of use.
The motor is housed beneath the bowl and this makes it very compact, and I am keeping it out on the worktop, the previous model was a big cream ugly thing more
