...not an argument against the Kenwood juicer itself. If you like freshly squeezed juice this is a great little machine for a beginner. Not suitable for industrial amounts of juice and whatever you do don't bother with bananas, they just produce a very small quantity of unappealing goo. If you want banana juice you need a blender not a juicer!
The best thing about this juicer is it's compact size and price. (about 29.99 or you can get a bargain on Ebay) Lets face it, it's easy to accumulate kitchen appliances and often much harder to find the space to put them away.
DESIGN - Very simple and stylish, chrome base with black & clear plastic dome at top. Compact and easily stored
USE - Simple to use, just chop up your desired fruit (or veg) and put in the feeder spout at the top. Push slowly with the plunger supplied. I have found that pushing slower makes more juice, and less grizzling sounds on the harder veg like carrots. The feeding mechanism is very easy to use, but you have to make sure you chop larger fruit/veg smallish, as it's a crescent shaped tube and fairly small.
There are two speeds which the instructions explain can be used for different fruit textures.
The juice comes out of a little opening at the front, so make sure you have a glass to catch it! Also, it's a good idea to stand the juicer on a draining board or similar as the fruit juice tends to gunk around the bottom and you have to watch out it doesn't glue itself to the bottom of the machine. Not very pleasant!!
One downside of this function is that you can only use a small cup underneath it and if the juice is coming out slowely it can end up just dribbling down the side of the machine instead of going into the cup.
BEST RESULTS- i've found that soft fruit (berries/ orange) and medium textures like apples are good, Carrot is pretty good but it sounds like the machine doesn't like it as it makes a sort of choppy grizzly noise if that makes sense! No banana's - see below!
Juice is lovely, although perhaps I found this appliance a bit wasteful. There is alot of pulp produced which still seems quite wet.
I've found that you can't juice en masse because the pulp produced sort of absorbs any new juice and prevents it going down the spout.
Also a typical downside is having to clean the thing. It's a bit of a pain but the juicer is quite easy to clean up, the only difficult thing being the mesh that strains the juice from the pulp which is best cleaned with a bristle brush (a bit like a mini cheese grater)
Summary :
I was given the juicer as a birthday present in the summer, and I must say was delighted at such an inventive gift. I love fresh juice, and it's often to get a good supply of cheap fruit if you know a good market. I used it quite alot in the summer but I have to admit that it's not seen much action this winter due to me feeling too grumpy to do anything as adventurous as squeezing my own juice however simple. It looks pretty on my shelf though and i intend to get it down again when it's a bit warmer.
Also, where I live (central London) is not the most sensible place to buy fresh fruit, especially if you're going to annihalate it in a juicer because it's so expensive!!

Advantages: quick , quiet and gets every drop! Disadvantages: can be a bit of a bother to wash!
I recieved this kenwood juicer for my 21st birthday this year and i love it! i have been raving to all my friends about keeping healthy and it is such a great way to get portions of fruit and vegetables.
The fruit takes a very short time to prepare, all you have to do is peel anything with a skin (oranges bananas etc.), chop into chunks that fit the inlet at the top and juice away.
I have a fruit juice every morning and although i say a disadvantage ... ...me being lazy! All parts of this juicer are easy to empty and can go straight into the dishwasher, you can either empty the left over pulp into the bin or use it in cooking for things like pies or sauces.
This fruit juicer is also very handy for hangovers! when all you need is vitimins vitamins vitamins this juicer is quick and very quit, proberly the most quiet i have tried so if you have a hangover headache you dont have to worry about making ...

Advantages: Small and compact, relativly easy to clean (for a juicer) can make a range of tasty and healthy drinks! Disadvantages: Gets blocked sometimes and is quite noisy, jug to collect juice was too short so juice escapes
I find this juicer is better then many because it is quite small and so I can leave it out in my kitchen and not have to pack it away after each use. I find that by having the juicer ready to use encourages me to make juice more often then I probably would otherwise. The juice it makes tastes great when drunk straight away with some ice, and is also lovely when put in a blender with some yogart/creme fresh/coconut milk/honey/bananas etc.
The only ... ...the spout can get bloked causing the juicer to over flow. A quick wipe down is all that is needed to sort out the problem. Admittedly cleaning the juicer is never fun but I have had a few different ones now and this one has been the easiest to clean. This is because it seems to have less parts, and the ones it does have don't have lots of fiddely bits where juice can get caught and build up. After a few uses I found it less fun and more of a chore ...

Advantages: Small, cheap and handy Disadvantages: Slightly louder than some other models
This juicer was easy to clean and flies through anything I put through it. Takes up very little space in your kitchen. With its simple stylish design and clean lines, this definitely met my appearance standards. Its assembly was extremely quick (a few seconds) and straightforward. A plastic spatula is included which is designed to fit snugly into the pulp basket to remove the bulk of the pulp. The Lid of the juicer is clear plastic which enables ... ...juice outlet spout is at a reasonable level for fitting a cup under; it would be nice if you could fit a full jug underneath though. Also comes with a citrus press attachment that can be used to juice citrus fruits without having to first peel them.
The pulp basket has aluminium mesh sides and sits on a shaft that spins thus giving the basket its centrifugal action. Though extremely loud and noisy, it does it's job!
When the pulp basket gets full ...
