After putting up with the blown speakers in the rear of my car for some time..i decided to purchase some new ones! I went for kenwood to match the head unit,as i like to use one brand if i can...i have found in the past,that it can be easyer to connect all the componants together,and therefore making fitting a bit quicker! I guess that doesnt apply to adding speakers as such,but i still like to use the same brands where i can...
Anyway,i found the KENWOOD KFC-1779IE just the right size that i was looking for..(sometime in the past,my car speaker system had been modded and i was looking for a direct replacement for the blown old speakers..) I found that the kenwood speakers were 17cm,just the size i needed! and 63.5 mm deep(just fits)so i purchased them.
I found them very well presented in their factory packing...they came with everything i needed to fit them into my car..I was lucky that i had no extra cutting or fitting to do..as they were bought as a direct replacement for the old speakers in my car..so it was an easy task to complete...i removed the old speakers,and just poped in my new ones.(KENWOOD)KFC-1779IE..I PUSHED ON THE WIRE CONECTIONS,TIGHTENED DOWN THE FIXING SCREWS,THEN CLIPPED ON THE COVERS..ALL DONE..EASY!
The sound quality is great,as you would expect for kenwood..treble is crisp and clear,mid range is more than satisfactory,as is the bass,even though they dont like being powered by big amps!! but thats fair,as the amp was overpowered really,for these speakers!! so not their fault...i'll keep the amps running my subwoofers only! with the head unit powering the kenwood's..That works well!
I think these quality KENWOOD in car speakers are nicely made,and they do look the part too! made with good quality materials they are a good buy...you can either fit yourself or can be fitted at a car hifi shop for a bit more money..saves you the job! Even though they are easy to fit,depending on your car fittings.
Overall i recomend these quality 3 way speakers,the sound is as good as you need in any car.the max power is 180w,they have a rated imput power of 45w,with a micro pearl woofer(170mm)the tweeters have a pei balanced dome(30mm)and they are 4 ohms..their frequency ranges from 30hz-to-25khz.size ,17cm by 63.5 deep.
