Advantages: It's a Kenwood! Disadvantages: Expensive and some might find it heavy

The first thing I made was a banana & walnut loaf - the mix was perfect in just seconds with this machine where I used to take ages mixing everything by hand. The mix for a victoria sponge cake came out lovely; light and fluffy - and very quick! The liquidiser is big and solid and I've made some lovely smoothies - loved by the children. What a wonderful piece of equipment!
I got this marvellous machine for my birthday (after months of dropping hints) and am absolutely thrilled.
As one would expect from the Kenwood brand this machine is a joy to have in the kitchen. Previously I just had a Kenwood Food Processor (now 12 years old but still working perfectly having been passed on to my brother) but really needed a mixer as well because I love to make cakes.

My husband found this on offer in House of Fraser but ordered it from Amazon as the package is far too big to bring home on the train. The box is truly massive which shows how well packaged this lovely piece of kit is. The package contains the machine itself, the wonderfully big 4.6 litre metal bowl, splashguard, the classic kbeater, balloon whisk, dough hook and rubber version of the kbeater. Then there is the 1.5 litre glass liquidiser jug and a food processor unit with 3 blades and a spatula. Also included is a comprehensive recipe book with guidance on how best to use each of the attachments and a nice selection of recipes. There is also a DVD which I haven't actually looked at yet!
The machine works quietly and efficiently with the famous Kenwood "planetary" action. The food processor works just as well as my old "separate" unit.
The machine has a total of four power outlets for a huge variety of optional attachments including pasta makers, mincer, potato peeler, grain mill etc. etc. etc. I believe there are 20 possible attachments available.
The machine is attractive to look out with it's sleek silver finish and would look perfectly acceptable on "display" on the kitchen worktop but is not too heavy to move around and put in a cupboard which is what I do. The power cord even pushes in and out of a little storage compartment rather than having to coil it up each time.
With 1400 watts of power, which is easily controlled, I can't imagine that there is much this machine wouldn't be able to handle.
This is not a cheap machine but if you are serious about cooking it is well worth saving up for!
Advantages: It's simply the most powerful and majestic Kenwood Disadvantages: Can't think of any
...that I needed a new Kenwood like a hole in the head - after all how many virtually retired batchelors really need a food processor?
But over the decades I collected unpteen very usefull accessories and no less than four Kenwood mixers of mixed vintage, all of which were excellent for one task or another. However none were compatable with all the tools I owned, and visa versa!
In a fit of enthusiasm last Christmas I hunted the Internet and decided ... ...later] I plumped for a Kenwood KM 010 Titanium. When it arrived, in a positively huge box, I really enjoyed myself unpacking every item and comparing the impressive new machine with its stainless steel accessories to the many "antique" versions in my collection. I also tried the old accessories to see if any would fit the new machine - zilch!
In one fowl swoop I gave away [nearly] all of my vintage Kenwood equipment safe in the knowledge that the ...
