It has been a rather long time since i've used this product but the memories of this fantastic machine are very bold.
After countless bottles of smoothies bought from different shops which could never properly please me, i decided to get my hands on this smoothie maker so i could add whatever i wanted to it.I bought it for just under £35. This price is rather cheap considering the performance of the machine. It comes with a 1.5L mixing container which is attached to a removable rotating blade. The lever to release the liquid from the Smoothie Maker is at the front of it, in the middle. The machine has 3 buttons in a row and 1 on the other side. The Pulse button is the big button which is seperate to the rest of them. From left to right, first comes the off button which really explains itself. The next button is "Mix" which is of course used to mix the ingredients together and the third and last button is "Smooth". As the name suggests, this is used to smooth out the final mixed product.
If you plan on putting the Smoothie into a large glass/cup/container then you may need to tilt it or remove the lid and just pour it in that way as it will not fit vertically under the tap.Obviously, this isn't a blender so most hard ingredients such as nuts may not blend. Attempting to mix such ingredients as this could break the machine so i suggest that you avoid them. I have made quite a few different types of smoothies/milkshakes myself and the most risky one i've attempted was a Mars Bar milkshake which to be honest, surprised me when it blended properly without any problems.
I highly suggest that when using the machine, you keep your hand on the lid at all times as it can easily come off and has happened to me creating a big mess! Likewise tighten the rotary blades as much as possible as sometimes the weight of the liquid will cause it to giveway, also creating a big mess. The machine does take a while to clean so think about this before using the machine!The Kenwood New York Smoothie Maker is a great product which is not overpriced and does exactly what you expect it to do.
