I bought the SB105 as a present for my wife as she was buying a lot of ready made smoothies. The unit is quite small and comes complete so no assembly is required.
Making a smoothie is really easy, it's just a case of putting all your ingredients into the machine and blitzing them for 20 to 30 seconds. The maker also comes with a stick device that allows you to properly mix your drink while the blender is running which means you can add all your ingredients at once without having to stop and stir so the results are pretty good every time.Once you've got your desired drink mixed just stick a glass under the tap and pour ,so there's very little (if any) mess. The jug is designed so that all your ingredients funnel into the mixing area which I think is a nice design feature as you get an "even" blend.
One thing I did notice is that the ice crushing capability isn't the best so it may be worth partially crushing the ice before you start. The SB105 comes with a 1 litre jug which is fine if there's only a couple of you, Kenwood do larger versions so if you want to make more at once then they may be a better option.
A booklet of recipes comes with it, I think there are 14 smoothie recipes and a few alcoholic recipes too.The unit cost £24.99 but it may be cheaper elsewhere and all in all it's a good quality product that produces decent results.
