There's not a lot you can say about kettles usually - you plug 'em in, switch on and stand back. There's a bewildering choice, but it usually comes down to a standard 3kw power, 1.7litre capacity... more

Advantages Advantages Boils water quickly. (Well, it is a kettle)

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not really, it is only a kettle.

This review is on the Kenwood metal jug kettle. The capacity is 1.7 Litres (three pints in old money) This has the traditional one year guarantee, but a three year one can be obtained for £9.99. I looked on line this morning and found one at http://www.ukonlinesales.co.uk/html/kettlesandcoff.html cost £31.50p. At Amazon it’s from £19 but that’s a refurbished one and another that has a damaged box. Compared to the price of ... more

    Advantages Advantages Hands-free pop-up lid

Disadvantages Disadvantages The screen printing on the on-off button is liable to scratch

There's not a lot you can say about kettles usually - you plug 'em in, switch on and stand back. There's a bewildering choice, but it usually comes down to a standard 3kw power, 1.7litre capacity, filter for hard water areas & plastic or stainless steel - every kettle's more or less the same. This kettle, however, actually has something innovative. It's got a really cool way of opening the lid. The power button doubles as a trigger for the spring-loaded lid to fly up - endless fun!! Push forward to turn on the power, or press backwards to flip the lid. No more steam-scolded fingers when ... more
