Every year 30,000 children attend hospital with burns. What is a minor burn for an adult can kill a child. Make sure you keep your kettle and its cord well back from the edge of the worktop. ... ...I have found this kettle very quick to boil, easy to lift and replace on the base and easy to clean. The only things I could complain about is it is quite noisy. It sounds as if you are getting it to boil with the lid off. I expected a much quieter kettle than the one I previously owned. When it has boilt the switch gives a loud clunk. Also I use filtered water from a jug and the opening for pouring your water into the kettle is fairly small. Spilt ...

...stores sell this beautiful shiny Kenwood kettle so prices may vary. As I have already said this kettle is shiny and roundish with a modern design. The highly polished stainless steel makes it easy to clean. All I do when the kettle is cold wipe it over with a damp cloth and then polish it off with a nice soft dry cloth.
The black sturdy handle is ideal for holding when you are filling or pouring from the kettle. There are grooves on the under side ... ...non slip grip.
The lid is round with a black round knob, easy to grip hold of when removing the lid. The spout is short and quite wide for easy pouring. WARNING If you overfill the kettle with the spout being short boiling water can spit out. Do not over fill.
There is a little tab like lever that you turn the kettle on with. It is clear plastic with a picture of a light bulb on. When you press this lever it lights up orange so that you know the ...

Advantages: 360degree base, designed to reduce limscale buildup Disadvantages: No water level marker, only a 'max' level inside the kettle
...If you are familiar with Kenwood products, no doubt you'll be familiar with their 'manuals'. For those of you who don't know i would really descirbe them as a leaflet, which covers 'safety', 'know your Kenwood stainless steel kettle', 'to use you stainless steel kettle', 'care and cleaning' and 'service and customer care' along with a little diagram with labels to point out the various parts of the appliance.
Certainly the 'safety' section is quite ... ...to do before using your kettle for the first time. The rest of the sections have some useful tips on how to use your kettle so that it lasts a long time. The final section gives contact details in the event of requiring a repair and guarantee details.
What it's like to Use
--------------------------
With it's rapid boil facility it boils water much quicker than most kettles i've used (obviously more water takes longer). The 360 base means it is ...

Advantages: Great value for a stylish kettle Disadvantages: It doesn't have cool-touch sides
The Kenwood SK950 kettle is a real winner. It stands out from similar brands because the design is just so balanced and refined, particularly for the price. I believe this kettle is the best looking of the 'traditional' style and its performance matches its appearance.
The kettle is stainless steel and, as with all shiny finishes, it needs to be polished to look its best. Mr Muscle glass cleaner and a bit of kitchen paper does the job for me! It ... ...which remains on the kitchen bench as you pour. The kettle can be replaced back onto this base at any angle, and spins a full circle so is easy to pick up or put down with either hand. The shape of the kettle and base guides the kettle back onto its holder, so it's quick and easy to use. The kettle itself has a concealed element, which means there are less parts to attract limescale coverage. The large, flat base also means that the water heats up ...

Advantages: Good pourer, boils quickly, neat design and functional stand Disadvantages: None
...house as it went. The Kenwood SK950 is an excellent kettle. It cost £27.50 from Argos (Catalogue number 420/8176) and is well worth it.
It has a capacity of 1.7litres which I make about 3 pints, it has, according to the box, about 2.2kw of power but such figures are only relevant if you are comparing them against another kettle. What counts is how it boils water, after all apart from looks that is the only function you want from a kettle. The Kenwood ... ...how does it pour? The Kenwood has an excellent design which means the water pours very easily from the largish spout.
With all things considered the Kenwood is an excellent kettle, it looks good, connects very easily to the base, lifts off the base and pours easily and boils the water quickly enough. What more could you want? ...
