Advantages: Easy to use,Reliable and flexible Disadvantages: An extra item to carry around
. It takes less than an hour to fully charge the unit and you are supplied with a mains adapter to allow you to use the unit from initial purchase. This unit is a 16channel unit and is excellent at receiving and keeping the GPS signal in both open and closed areas (some units can lose the signal in built up areas and places like valleys).I have used this in alot of different locations and have hardly ever lost the signal, even when I did it quickly got the signal back.
The seek time(time it takes to pick up GPS signal) is very quick and this is useful for occasions like driving into a tunnel where you will lose the signal and need to gain it back quickly when you exit the other end. On turning the unit on it took about 20-25 seconds to pick up the GPS signal and there is a red LED on the top of the unit that will start to ...
I dont have a 20 channelreceiver however I do have a 12 channelreceiver which came in the box with my Tom Tom Navigator 5 for PDA, whichi I use in my Treo 680 Smart Phone. The whole thing works perfectly and I couldn't ask for more as Sat Nav goes.

Once linked I take the unit off the dash and place it on the floor of the car in between the seats and it keeps the signal through motorway tunnels and even during a traffice halt under a bridge! It does link ...

After failing to be impressed by this Compact flash GPSreceiver, I was beginning to loose faith with the whole concept, but thought that I would give one last punt at buying a Bluetooth connecting GPS receiver off Ebay, which praised itself at being all singing and dancing with incredible battery life and super connection speeds. It proved to be just that.
External Features
The receiver itself is a black rectangular box shaped device with 3 LED lights on the top, one orange which flashes once a GPS signal has been achieved, one blue which signals a bluetooth connection to an external device, and one further light to indicate low battery life remaining. It also has a USB connection input for connection to computers without Bluetooth and is also the charging connector. The base of the device has two rubber sections ...
