...bought it to replace another Breville kettle. The previous one worked fine but hot water seemed to drip down the front when pouring, which isn't very good. This 'Hot Cup' kettle is very different though and looks not too dissimilar to a coffee machine and it pours the water for you without you having to lift it off the base (it's more of a dispenser really). The kettle is finished in a highly polished shiney chrome which actually resists finger prints very well so it stays cleaner. When the kettle is put on to boil there is a funky blue light which lights up the water level indicator on both sides.

I bought this product in December 2008 and although up to Jan 2010 it worked satisfactorily it has now failed. It was guaranteed for 12 months so is out of guarantee. I personally do not think that is an acceptable life span on a product of this so called quality.
