I brought this Morphy Ricards kettle a few months ago off of Amazon for £24.99. My old kettle had broken and faced with a £5 kettle from Tescos which I figured would break in a couple of months and this stylish black and steel kettle there was no choice really. ...buy a new kettle. The Morphy Richards has a push button lid and a failsafe cut-out in case of problems. I should probably warn you that I have heard of people's kettles opening button failing to work after a couple of months use. I bought this kettle after my old kenwood stopped working for no apparent reason. At £24.95 the price was extremely competitive for this type of kettle. It's cordless which means I can move it around well as i use it, not only for drinks, but also for filling saucepans when boiling vegetables to save time and energy. This means that it's almost impossible to knock it off the base and also there's less likely to be a problem with water from the bottom of the kettle getting into the electrical socket. I bought this kettle four weeks ago for £31 at a local store. I am generally very happy with it, it boils quickly and is very quiet.
