Leaks like a sivve after just 2 weeks!! Advantages: Can use to drain your rice! Makes Making a Cuppa a Cinch! Advantages: Energy saving, Quick to boil, Stylish, Easy to use Disadvantages: Amount poured is not adjustable, water drips, only good for filling cups ...bought it to replace another Breville kettle. The previous one worked fine but hot water seemed to drip down the front when pouring, which isn't very good. This 'Hot Cup' kettle is very different though and looks not too dissimilar to a coffee machine and it pours the water for you without you having to lift it off the base (it's more like a hot water dispenser). A good kettle with a few quirks Advantages: Does the job - safely and quickly Disadvantages: Slightly tricky to fill, ugly black lead and plug I have owned this kettle for about a week. I bought it at Sainsbury's for £24.99 which seems a reasonable price in this day and age. The kettle and base are an attractive brushed stainless steel finish with black plastic handle and trim. Very stylish. There is a steel mesh filter which can be removed for the occasional clean-up and de-scaling. It has a 1.7 litre capacity which seems typical. This is about 3 pints in old money. It has a smooth, safe ... ...pops up by pressing a button at the top of the handle. The lead is fixed and the free length can be varied from 18-24 inches. However the lead and plug are both in unattractive black - I'm sure it would not have added anything to the cost to have a white lead and plug, in keeping with many kitchen decors.
