Advantages: limescale filter Disadvantages: Bit pricey
I bought the Prestige 42335 kettle recently, to go with my new kitchen décor. I have never been one for buying fancy household appliances in the past. As you may be aware if you have read my toaster review. The truth is I would never have dreamt of going out and spending this much on a kettle if it wasn't for the fact I wanted all my appliances to match. (it's the sort of handbag must match shoes thing dilemma) This kettle has a slightly retro feel ... ...I bought my Prestige 42335 graphite kettle from www.amazon.co.uk for £43.49 from one of the shops on there. In my personal opinion it is a very expensive kettle and it doesn't really do much different from my five pound value one. The only difference is that it matches my toaster. If I was you I would stick to those value ones unless you win the lottery and can afford to waste forty odd quid on a kettle that does the same as a cheap one! I say the ...

Advantages: Looks good- but only when brand new Disadvantages: Burns your hands, difficult to clean, paint chips off through cleaning
I have quite mixed feeling about my kettle. I love the way it looks... actually that is about it.
Despite th cost I decided to buy it because I thought it looked so good and matched my kitchen perfectly. However there are quite a few negatives...
1. It is expensive
2. After boiling the kettle the steam from it burns your hand when pouring
3. You need to wait quite a time to refill the kettle after boiling, if you do not and lift the lid you will ... ...It gets lime scale easily and is very difficult to descale. This is because it is hard to emptly the water out of it and with it the limescale. It took me about three hours to do so, and was still not perfect. The spout and the underside are problem areas. You can also not tip evrything out because of the design.
5. The paint flakes off through normal cleaning (with water) and ruins the stylish look.
6. It is heavy.

Not being a tea or coffee drinker, I don’t use a kettle very much so when my gas hob kettle broke after many years of service I was looking for a more economical one as t’other one used to take an age to boil on the gas and one that blended in to my kitchen without breaking the bank!
This is a steel kettle, predominantly silver in colour with some black. A cordless kettle which sits on a connector base which has a cable length of 0.6m which for ... ...sit on the bench and be plugged in as some other kitchen appliances have cables that are too long and make it look untidy.
The kettle is a good shape, relatively streamline and blended in well with the rest of the new(ish) kitchen. It is easy to fill from either the spout or by pressing a button at the top the lid flips open. The push down ‘on’ switch is near the base of the kettle, just under the handle.
So all was well with the look and the price ...

I brought this kettle from Tesco a month ago (October 2009) to replace the previous kettle from a totally different brand and that kettle had turned faulty. Its a very good kettle and it doesn't build up limescale quickly. Even though there is an absence of a scale to measure the amount of water in the kettle, In my opinoin I dont actually find the water measuring function of other kettles useful as they are often inaccurate often prolonged use. ...
