Sounds Good, Performs Bad!
Review of IBM Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Kit - keyboard , mouse by r0sco1

Advantages: Plenty of Keys, easy access to applications, wireless!
Disadvantages: Poor performance, can be awkward to setup

When I received this IBM Keyboard & Mouse, I thought that it would be a great little device, very practical as like everything else these days in going "wireless". However in reality things wireless do have disadvantages Out of the box you get 6 Batteries, 4 for the Keyboard and 2 for the Mouse AAA Standard. As for the keyboard it comes with good media options like Volume buttons, Track Forward/Back etc. It also comes with 6 extra buttons, which ...
...them for. 2 of the buttons come pre configured for Email & Internet. Underneath the Keyboard is a button used to reset communications with receiver unit. The Mouse comes with a Scroll Point and a Left & Right Button. Again underneath the Keyboard is a button used to reset communications with receiver unit. Both devices send & receive their signal from a receiver unit, which is connected via USB to the system. Underneath the Receiver unit are 2 ... Read review

IBM Quality @ IBM Price
Review of IBM Rapid Access II - keyboard by BNibbles

Advantages: Good extra features. Can play CD's from keyboard
Disadvantages: Price?

...it. I’m talking about my IBM Rapid Access Keyboard. I have been using this for about 18 months now, and if I remember correctly it cost me about £30 from PCW, the shop whose name I can’t bring myself to say in full! Since keyboards can be had for a fiver upwards, what’s so special about it? Well, nothing from the “Immense Bowel Movement”* is ever going to be cheap, but it does carry some extra features, which set it ...
...load software of your choice. IBM have printed an insert for you, on the assumption that word-processor, spreadsheet and internet access are going to be the big three, within one other blank, which I have taken to be my Quicken banking software. Notwithstanding IBM’s printed label, there is nothing to stop you programming all four yourself. The software to configure your board comes on CD-ROM and is easy to install. It adds another icon within ... Read review

Quality look and feel at the right price
Review of Trust XpertTouch Wireless Optical Deskset DS-3400D UK - keyboard , mouse by coppinpr

Advantages: Looks good,feels good,well made
Disadvantages: manual could be more helpful when troubleshooting

...When I saw the stylish trust DS-3400D at only £17 in PC world I just couldn't resist and ,on the whole, I'm glad I couldn't. The keyboard is very stylish, quite thin and a nice 'gunmetal blue' around the edge. The extra function keys are situated at either end rather than the above the standard function keys and this makes the keyboard a little longer then most. The keys are well spaced and have a nice feel ,there is no wrist bar and some people ...
...side while typing. The unit is light but heavy enough not to slip about during usewhich is a plus. This really is a 'plug and play' item, no instalation cd is provided, and at first sight appears not to be needed as the manual consists of just two lines, " install the batteries" and "plug in the USB transmitter". This works fine, both keyboard and mouse work at once and without a major problem. Small problem arises whith the extra function keys, some ... Read review

Worth the money
Review of Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 1000 - keyboard , mouse by calumneilson

Advantages: Long range, easy to use, comfortable
Disadvantages: Hard to install

...wireless keyboard and mouse from Microsoft makes working and gaming at your computer so much easier. It is ok to install, but I had a few problems that I was able to solve myself. Once it is installed both the keyboard and mouse have a long range away from the transmitter that you connect to USB. However, quite a bit you will get some annoying messages and pop-ups saying that the signal is low or battery is low, sometimes these warnings aren't ...
...it is easy to re sync just by pressing two buttons. The set is not very expensive so in my opinion it is very good value for money. It also comes with some software that you need to install. It can be difficult to get installed, but it doesn't use much computer resources so will not slow down your PC. ... Read review

Keysonic ACK-540 RF Wireless Mini-Keyboard
Review of Keysonic ACK-540 RF - keyboard , touchpad by mystik

Advantages: Small and light, touchpad, great range, good keys
Disadvantages: Numpad operation fiddly, tacky mouse buttons and a little flimsy for some

It's a bit creaky and cheaply built but the range is excellent as it battery life. There aren't many keyboards with a built in mouse pad so you don't need a mouse as well for armchair surfing and emails. The Mouse buttons have a horrible click to them but the keys are pretty good. Very small keyboard so great for storage. Uses 4 AAA batteries. The USB dongle is a little on the large side so rear mount is preferrable unless you have health insurance. ...
...is on by default. Press FN (bottom left) and NumLK (top right) to disable. It takes a bit of getting used to that the key in the bottom left is not CTRL but the FN key but not a major problem. At about £20 it's a good buy I'd say. ... Read review
