...cheap skint, and that's where Kia Ora orange squash comes in.
Isn't it strange how flavored things never taste anything like the original?! Well this is no different, despite being made with real fruit juuice (13%, which when diluted according to their measure of 1 part squash, 4 parts water, becomes becomes 2.6%, which isn't much!) However, it is a lot better than some of the even cheaper brands and does smell pretty good. Also, there's ... ...the front and a raised Kia Ora (with splashes) on the bottle itself (kids)
Pricewise, it's not bad value, normally retailing at around 85p per litre bottle, though my mother picked it up in the Spar as a BOGOF deal.
Served on a hot day in the garden, made with ice cold water, this really is quite refreshing, but, I'll stick to the mixed fruit version (also Kia Ora-very tasty) ... more
Well, that's what my friend used to say (OS=Orange squash btw), but personally I have never been a big fan and would rather any other flavor. I'm not a big fan of fizzy drinks and water's only any good when it's really cold, so all my life, I've lived on squash. When home, I tend to drink whatever brand/flavor's on offer at the time as my mother's a bit of a cheap skint, and that's where Kia Ora orange squash comes in.

However, it is a lot better than some of the even cheaper brands and does smell pretty good. Also, there's no nasty aftertaste with this squash, which again is an improvement on some cheaper (dare I say it, own) brands.
This particular bottle of squash contained no added sugar, so appears quite healthy. It also contains no tartrazine or similar artificial colours, yet uses aspartame and saccharin for sweetening, so you make your own mind up on the health front. It contains per 100ml undiluted, 12.3 calories, which I kindly, based on their dilution reccomendation and an average glass size of 250ml, have calculated to be 6.2 calories per glass.
The bottle is designed to appeal to both children and parents, as it's label has pictures of fresh oranges (parents) and cartoon mima birds walking across the front and a raised Kia Ora (with splashes) on the bottle itself (kids)

Advantages: Smells Lovely, Refreshing Disadvantages: Doesn't really taste of oranges
Kia Ora Orange squash is one of those products that has been around for ever. As a kid my mother used to swear by it and there was always a bottle in the cupboard.
I am sure some of you must remember that freaky advert from about 20 years ago, or maybe it's just me who needs to get out a little more. So What Is Kia Ora?
Kia Ora takes its strange name from the Maori word for welcome. It is an orange squash drink originally sold in a glass bottle ... ...the cap is the smell. Kia Ora has a very rich sweet smell of oranges, yes it really does smell of the real thing, but then again it is made from real oranges and according to the bottle contains 13% real oranges, which when diluted down to the recommended one part cordial to four parts water becomes 2.6%. I know it doesn't seem a lot but enhanced with the flavourings you can definitely still smell the orange like smell.
The colour is a very deep ...

Advantages: Great taste/smell, refreshing great value Disadvantages: Difficult to find
I and my family, have tried virtually every brand (even shops own brands) of orange but nothing (in our opinion) comes close to Kia-Ora for taste and smell. We prefer the no added sugar option but sadly, it's quite an achievement to find any in the shops! It seems to appear in "batches" at certain times of the year, Iceland normally has stocks but Asda only seems to stock it for a limited time in the summer, all other brands are stocked all year ... ...I'm sure you'll end up like me searching everywhere for it and if found, stock up as next time you go shopping and you're kids ask "can you get some of that nice orange you got last time", you won't find it and end up bringing home something else "that looks okay" but won't be appreciated! ...

" above the nutritional information. However none of it quite rang true - for example, rather than use the same quirky font all over the pack, the address that you write to with comments / feedback / complaints remained in the "serious", corporate looking font that I assume Ribena corporate guidelines insist is used.
Anyway, enough of the packaging: what of the taste?
Firstly, the taste of this drink is absolutely nothing like the taste of actual orange juice, even though it claims to be orange juice made from concentrate. Presumably this is because of all the sugar and sweeteners in it. Instead, it reminded me rather of KiaOraorangesquash, which I drank as a kid, but made very strong - or of orange flavoured Capri Sun (the sort that comes in triangular foil packets that you can stab the straw right through!).
The overwhelming ...
