Advantages: Plenty of extras, good VFM, looks great Disadvantages: Limited dealers, no brand awareness
I recently bought a 1.3 Kia Rio LX brand new from a local dealer. A friend of mine has used Kia for years so I paid them a visit. The name Kia means "out of Asia" and Kia have an alliance with Chrysler, so there's some good support and R&D there for a Korean manufacturer. The Rio LX comes with remote central locking, A/C, CD player, electric windows all round, colour coded mirrors and trim, great instrument display and loads of room inside. ... ...It is available on Kia finance at 10,2% APR, which isn't too bad and unlike some car companies they do not push all the extras down your throat. Overall I am extremely pleased with the car, it's looks, fuel economy (around 40mpg urban), it's power and the features. It is certainly a brand to watch. It is stylish and is an estate car, fitting five people and luggage easily. It has some neat features like 12v power supply in the boot so you can run portable appliances, neat eh!Unlike many cheaper cars it feels substantial and its fuel injected 1342 cc engine delivers a reasonable amount of power, 80 BHP and cruises all day at 80 mph. The Rio offers everything my Mondeo has but for half the price. It has a 3 years RAC European cover included along with a three year warranty and 5 years paintwork warranty. Service intervals are every 10k miles or 12 months and there are around 120 dealers across the UK. A full service is around £130 so it's good value. It is available on Kia finance at 10,2% APR, which isn't too bad and unlike some car companies they do not push all the extras down your throat. Advantages: Good on gas and has a good appearance Disadvantages: Not a good longevity car and hard to get fixed
On initial acquiring of the Kia Spectra, I was pretty impressed. It handles very well and is really good on gas. It was a very nice looking car, too. After about a year of having the car, it began to have major system problems- namely the transmission began to go out. It was one thing after another after the transmission. On the other hand, the safety of the car in an accident is pretty impressive. It is not easy to get fixed and the parts are hard ...

Advantages: Cheep to buy and run Disadvantages: It's not a Porsche
...November I bought a new Kia Pride, being 100 miles from the dealer this was not the simplist of tasks but after requesting a brochure over the net and ordering over the phone the car was delivered to my door at 6:00pm one tuesday.
It's a 3 door hatch with a 1.4l engine giveing me around 48 miles to the gallon.
The reasoning behind the purchase was simple I also have a Nissan Patrol doing about 20 to the gallon so this car almost pays for it's self ... ...with this small car as I travel between 700 and 1000 miles per week.
What other car can you get for 5,500 quid with 60000 miles / 3 years warranty 1 year RAC cover and 2 years interes free credit. I will trade this one in at the end of 2 years with 70 - 80 thousand miles on the clock and get another on the same deal unless other manufactrues get there act together and bring down the prices to match. ...

Advantages: Very spacious and excellent fuel consumption Disadvantages: Interior trim could be better
Having driven a Sedona for 3 years now, both the old turbo diesel model and now the new CRDi,I have to say that pound for pound it is the best value people carrier around.Very spacious interior with a 2-2-3 seating arrangement, which in my opinion allows better access to the rear than the Galaxies etc.The 143BHP diesel engine is a must over it's petrol version solely due to the greater fuel consumption(averages 38 m.p.g.)and far superior residual values. The ... ...cost of an Astra estate, and there's no competition here.I opted for the LX or mid-range at £16445,which gave me air-con and EBD(electronic brake distribution)and improved upholstery.Having three kids,I also opted to have an overhead DVD system fitted.I must admit to having driven umpteen people carriers in the quest to find the right one,and urge anyone in the market for a seven seater(or an Astra estate)to try it out. ...

Purchased recently a Kia Shuma 2 years old, not for those that like a good name but quality and comfort come at a very reasonable price. I love my Kia it cost me £3,800 and when I trade it in it will be for another Kia. The Kia Shuma automatic comes in a 1.5 so you save on tax and I get about 35 mpg as the automatic uses more fuel than the manuel. Looks, it looks just like a Mondeo. I don't think it comes in many colours but then i did not buy new. ...

Advantages: The Kia Sportage is good reasonable 4x4 capable of towing a caravan Disadvantages: high fuel consumption around town .It has a small boot space
...reasonable price.I have owned three kia sportages .I tow a caravan with it.The lastest sportage has a split rear window which is much better than their last design of a one piece opening door.It is now bigger than the previous model. My sportage is the xs with leather seats and climate control in fact it has the works.I couldn't wish for any more perks. The cruise control is very good when towing on a long journey in the caravan. The boot is pretty ... ...the previous model which was on the back of the rear door.It has a sliding elecric sun roof with a manual shade cover which is an added feature to the last model if you had climate control.I would highly recommend Kia as a company for its cars and its servicing. ...

Advantages: Cheap on fuel, insurance & tax. Mazda fuel injected engine & quite nippy Disadvantages: Not many for what they cost. Image I guess.
Kia Pride Shout 1998 3 door 1324cc
I?ve owned my Pride for over 4 years now so thought I?d update my review.
So far this car has been 100% reliable. I use it nearly every day. I replaced the original battery which lasted 9 years. The only other thing I?ve had to do is replace the rear hub/wheel bearings which started getting noisy at 30K. The bearing kits are about £15 each and can be done without a mechanics press. My local garage only charged me £20 per wheel to repair. The mechanic believed that they wear more quickly because they are quite small. If you are hearing a whining grumble whilst driving then yours need replacing too. I?ve read of a tendancy to misfire in the wet. Mine does this when stood in wet weather overnight, it?s only a slight misfire which ceases after a few miles driving when the engine starts to warm. I ...

Having 5 children we needed some thing a bit bigger than the rover we had. We started to look around and visit web sites for a people carrier. We also looked at the ones that we passed on the road and saw the Kia Sedona. It looked very spacious, a nice smooth curvy body.
We went to our local Kia dealers and had a look at the different models of Sedona they had. We didn?t want a second hand one in case anything happened to it we would not of had a fall back plan. We looked at the Kia Sedona SX and decided that this was the one for our family and us.
We could fold all the back seats down and push them forward and have a large backspace if we needed it, also when the seats were upright and pushed forward there was quite a lot of space in the boot department, which we were surprised about.
The engine is beautiful and runs really ...

Having a family of 4 as well as 3 Boisterous Labradors I was looking for a car with Space and Style that would not need Refuelling twice a week. I looked at various people carriers before deciding on a Kia Sedona, Mainly because I had never heard of Kia. The Salesman was well informed and seemed to have a genuine passion when selling the finer points of the car, which is always encouraging. But did I want a Kia Sedona? My nearest Kia garage was, at that time, some 40 miles away. A long way to go if something relatively minor goes wrong. As part of my decision making process I apprehended a Gentleman in the railway station car park as he was getting into his Kia Sedona. He was generally pleased with his car and was even happier with the money he had saved compared to other, better known but more expensive People carriers. So I decided to ...
